The Chef is responsible for providing daily food service meals for staff and guests, supervising a staff to include sous chef, pastry chef and cooks.

  • Develop a menu of meals, including daily specials and rotating options, that exceed customer expectations. (Menus should also include options to meet the tastes of local staff and that are priced accordingly.)
  • Develop and create a 5 Star dining experience
  • React, in a responsive and sensitive manner, to customer feedback regarding the foodservice.
  • Mentor outstanding guest service through deeds and actions
  • Ensure location is meeting company standards and safeguard that strategic menu choices reflect well on the Company
  • Ensure the daily procedures and disciplines of shift management are adhered to by all kitchen employees
  • Maintain pristine standards of food safety and sanitation
  • Upon request, the Executive Chef will prepare and cater representational, VIP visitors or special events.
  • Capable of performing job duties within a non-permissive, austere environment.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience managing a kitchen as a chef in a 4/5 star hotel or restaurant, or equivalent, relevant experience.
  • Must have at least 5 years of supervision experience, or equivalent experience.
  • Must have a college degree in Culinary Arts or a related field.
  • Must have demonstrated proficiency in food safety standards in the Food Code
  • Must have demonstrated experience in monitoring inventory and supply chain management.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated customer service skills are highly desirable

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions

  • Must be able to lift tools, materials, equipment in excess of 50lbs.

  • Must be able to work from all types of ladders and perform work at various heights.
