<p><strong><span data-ccp-props="{}">Role Overview</span></strong></p>
<p>The Junior Chemist manages and maintains all our internal and external formulas testing up to date as well as managing all the pre-regulatory documentation. In this role, the coordinator will prepare a technical presentation for future launches to the I&I teams. The Junior Chemist will create stability templates and issues final reports for all the brands and create final dossiers to formally release formulas for production. </p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><em><strong><span data-contrast="none">This is a hybrid role which requires 3 days per week working in the lab located in Fairfield, New Jersey and 2 days from home.</span></strong></em></span></p>
<p><strong><span data-contrast="none">Responsibilities</span></strong><span data-ccp-props="{"134233117":false,"134233118":false,"335559738":240,"335559739":240}"> </span></p>
<ul>
<li>Batch formulas & conduct internal stability as required by the supervisor, i.e., track stability, update results charts and summarize data for review at each test period.</li>
<li>Manage all stability reports from external manufacturers and share findings with corresponding chemist.</li>
<li>Work together with Senior Scientists to prepare lab batches of formulas needed for submitting samples for new development and reformulate / resubmit them based on Marketing team’s feedback.</li>
<li>Develop detailed lab scale processes for success in manufacturing, including critical raw materials order of addition, processing parameters, and preliminary specification and test results</li>
<li>Document in MAESA Lab book every batch made with details of reason for the batch, batching notes, batch specification results and other test results as applicable</li>
<li>Coordinate all extra samples shipping with different vendors (bulk for fragrance base/ bulk for packaging/ etc.)</li>
<li>Manage each of the brand trackers for submissions/ formulas/ samples/ testing for the whole R&D team</li>
<li>Digitally catalog raw material samples to track inventory</li>
<li>Prepares R&D innovation presentations for future launches</li>
<li>Manage digital formula libraries for R&D</li>
<li>Generate Tentative ILs of internal lab batches for regulatory review.</li>
<li>Request and manage formula documents (COA/ Raw Material documents) to provide to regulatory once formula approval for internal formulas</li>
<li>Conduct efficacy testing as required by supervisor</li>
<li>Conduct laboratory efficacy tests and write reports detailing experiments, analysis and summary of results</li>
<li>Communicate formulation stability and efficacy issues promptly and thoroughly to supervisor</li>
<li>Perform/Monitor calibration and validation of all lab instruments.</li>
<li>Maintain clean, safe and well-organized lab working area.</li>
<li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; must be self-motivated and self-directed</li>
<li>Strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work with a high degree of autonomy</li>
<li>Strength in timeline management, managing multiple projects simultaneously</li>

<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s Degree preferred – Chemistry, Engineering or related field of study</li>
<li>3-5 years of beauty industry/personal care, including formulation and scale-up, required</li>
<li>Experience working as a Lab Technician at a Personal care industry.</li>
<li>Strong communication skills and adept negotiating/influencing competencies</li>
</ul>
