This is a hands-on Chief Estimator role, with significant time dedicated to both leading the Estimating Team and personally completing estimates.</p> <p><strong>Position Description</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead and oversee the estimating process, ensuring accurate, competitive proposals through effective team leadership, risk analysis, cost forecasting, and collaboration across departments.</li> <li>Build and maintain strong relationships with Owners, Clients, Designers, Subcontractors, and Suppliers, reflecting the Company’s core values.</li> <li>Collaborate with the Preconstruction Team on negotiated opportunities and conceptual estimates.</li> <li>Supervise, mentor, and develop the estimating team, identifying high-potential employees for future leadership roles.</li> <li>Manage labor cost analysis for self-performed work, updating production rates based on historical and market data.</li> <li>Oversee subcontractor solicitation, bid coverage, and use of the company’s Bid-Room system to ensure effective communication and participation goals are met.</li> <li>Evaluate opportunities for self-perform work and strategic sequencing to maximize competitiveness, and assist in developing bid day strategies.</li> <li>Stay current with estimating and bid solicitation software, providing training and recommending updates as needed.</li> <li>Serve as lead estimator on projects when necessary based on workload or project complexity.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Position Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field</li> <li>10 - 15 years relevant Commercial construction experience</li> <li>5+ years of Commercial estimating experience, including leading others</li> <li>Ability to work at our headquarters location in Jacksonville, FL - this is not a remote position</li> <li>Working knowledge of construction methods, systems, and installations</li> <li>Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen eye for detail.</li> <li>Highly motivated with strong organizational skills.</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><strong>Auld &amp; White Constructors is an Equal Opportunity Employer.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Auld &amp; White does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, non-disqualifying physical or mental disability, national origin, veteran status or any other basis covered by appropriate law.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">All employment is decided on the basis of qualifications, merit, and business need.&nbsp;</span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p></div>
