About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage design models, drawings, and technical deliverables using CAD and BIM platforms (Civil 3D and Revit) for a variety of civil engineering projects.
- Analyze topographic, survey, and GIS data to support accurate and efficient project design.
- Prepare detailed construction drawings, plans, sections, details, and technical reports in compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
- Review construction documents for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with the development of project budgets, cost estimates, material quantities, and feasibility studies.
- Support the preparation of material and technical specifications.
- Research existing conditions, records, and as-built documentation to inform design decisions.
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure design intent and project objectives are met.
What you'll need
- Associate degree in drafting/design, engineering technology, or a related field; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Certification as a CADD Professional is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of related experience in civil engineering, surveying, or mapping, including preparation of design drawings, plans, sections, and details.
- Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring design teams is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with applicable engineering standards, regulations, and quality assurance/quality control processes.
- Strong technical expertise in civil design and CADD/BIM technologies
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, Microsoft Office, and related software
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
- Client-focused mindset with attention to quality and accuracy
- High level of attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment
- Flexibility and adaptability across multiple projects and priorities
- Working knowledge of GPS data collection and data import into design software
