Cloud Developer/Engineer

<p class="MsoPlainText">Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a&nbsp;motivated, career and customer-oriented<strong> Senior Cloud Developer/Engineer</strong> to join our team in Chantilly, VA.&nbsp;You will help design, implement, and manage secure cloud infrastructures in&nbsp;support of mission-critical operations, with a strong focus on security monitoring and threat detection. This role supports complex cloud environments by leveraging modern DevOps tools and practices, collaborating across teams to solve technical challenges.</p> <h5>Responsibilities include but are not limited to:</h5> <ul> <li>Supporting AWS, Azure, Oracle, and GCP cloud services and infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or ARM templates</li> <li>Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to a specific cloud environment</li> <li>Implementing Cloud security best practices</li> <li>Leveraging Azure data services such as Azure Monitor, Azure Logging Analytics, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, and Azure Policy to ensure security posture and compliance.</li> <li>Writing and maintaining automation scripts in PowerShell, Python, or Azure CLI and executing them using services such as Logic Apps, Azure Automation, and Azure</li> <li>Configuring network security groups (NSGs), application gateways, and other network controls to protect cloud resources</li> <li>Managing Cloud compute, storage, networking, and database services</li> <li>Applying security best practices and compliance standards while collaborating effectively across teams to address complex technical needs</li> </ul> <h5>Minimum Qualifications:</h5> <ul> <li>5-7 years of experience in cloud computing with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure, and AWS</li> <li>Bachelor’s degree or 4+ additional years of IT experience in lieu of a degree</li> <li>Experience designing and deploying Cloud-based solutions tools, and working with DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Gitlab, AWS CodeStar, Docker, etc.</li> <li>Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools like ARM templates, Terraform, Ansible, or BICEP</li> <li>Familiarity with cloud template technologies including Azure Resource Manager, GitHub Enterprise, GitLab, and architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman</li> <li>Experience automating workflows using scripting tools such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, YAML, JSON, or Ansible</li> <li>DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (e.g., CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, Security+, CND, SSCP) or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire</li> </ul> <h5>Preferred Qualifications:</h5> <ul> <li>Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and experience with other cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud Platform</li> <li>Familiarity with the Atlassian tool suite, specifically JIRA and</li> <li>Understanding of Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS)-199, NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-53A, NIST SP 800-37, and DoD Cloud Security Requirements Guide</li> <li>Microsoft certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Security&nbsp;Engineer Associate, Solutions Expert in Cloud Platform and Infrastructure, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert</li> </ul> <h5>Clearance Requirements:</h5> <ul> <li>Must have a current/active clearance with polygraph</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><p>&nbsp;</p> <div><strong>What’s in It for You?</strong></div> <div>Flexible work environment</div> <div>A team mentality – work with friendly, like-minded professionals</div> <div>Work with innovative, cutting edge technologies</div> <div>Enjoy extremely competitive compensation and benefits</div> <div>A work-life balance you can count on</div> <div>Opportunities to grow and advance your career on our dime</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div><strong>The Benefits You Get with Freedom</strong></div> <div>Amazing benefits including matching 401k, fully paid medical, and more</div> <div>Generous paid time off – including paid site closure days</div> <div>Competitive salary offerings</div> <div>Paid training and tuition reimbursement</div> <div>Referral bonuses</div> <div>Fully paid life and disability</div> <div>Annual logo wear allowance</div> <div>Company sponsored events (game nights, holiday party, summer party, happy hours)</div> <div>Interested in learning more about Freedom and our culture?&nbsp;
