The Hospice Aide provides compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals receiving end-of-life services in an inpatient hospice setting. 🕒 Position Details
- Location: Wyndmoor, PA
- Role: Inpatient hospice unit (CNA or HHA)
🧡 What You’ll Do
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with:
- Bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene
- Toileting and incontinence care
- Oral care, skin care, and repositioning
- Assist with safe patient transfers, ambulation, and mobility
- Support patient comfort through non-medical interventions (e.g., positioning, linen changes, environmental adjustments)
- Observe and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable patient environment
- Assist with meal setup and feeding, as appropriate
- Provide emotional support to patients and families with compassion and respect
- Follow infection control, safety, and hospice care protocols
- Document care provided according to facility guidelines
Requirements
- Previous experience as a caregiver or in a healthcare-related role is preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic attitude towards client care.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive end-of-life situations
- Strong observation and reporting skills
- Team-oriented mindset
- Physical ability to assist with lifting, turning, and transferring patients
- Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and professionalism
- Ability to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Proof of Influenza Vaccination or an approved Medical or Religious exemption.
- Employees designated in a driver status, traveling from site to site, will be required to maintain a valid driver's license and auto insurance at all times.
