Tasks

We are looking for entrepreneurial individuals interested in building companies in the local services space together with ThirtyEight Capital.

This is not a traditional operating role with predefined responsibilities.

The goal is to jointly identify, validate and potentially build scalable and profitable businesses in highly fragmented service industries.

**Potential areas of focus include:**

\- SHK / HVAC

\- Electrical services

\- Building services

\- Home modernization & infrastructure

\- Skilled trades

\- Service businesses around energy, maintenance and renovation

**We believe these markets offer massive opportunities:**

\- highly fragmented supplier structures

\- low digitalization

\- weak customer experience

\- operational inefficiencies

\- and increasing long-term demand

**You might already:**

\- work inside the industry

\- operate a small business

\- understand operational pain points

\- or have identified opportunities to modernize how these businesses are built and scaled

**Together, we would:**

\- explore market opportunities

\- validate business models

\- develop operational concepts

\- build first customer traction

\- and potentially launch a venture together

Our focus is on building operationally strong businesses with:

\- efficient customer acquisition

\- scalable systems

\- strong branding

\- and an early path to profitability

**We believe many of the best companies of the next decade will be built in “unsexy” industries where execution matters more than hype.**

Requirements

We care less about perfect resumes and more about entrepreneurial drive, ownership mentality and strong execution capabilities.

Relevant backgrounds could include:

\- Skilled trades / local services

\- Operations-heavy industries

\- Construction or building-related businesses

\- Sales or commercial roles

\- Entrepreneurship or startup experience

\- Service operations management

You do not need previous founder experience.

What matters most:

\- willingness to build from zero

\- bias for action

\- operational thinking

\- resilience

\- strong commercial instinct

\- curiosity and ownership mentality

We are especially interested in people who:

\- already have ideas for improving the industry
