Essential Functions and Primary Duties
Build and maintain strong relationships with mid-to-large, complex commercial clients, consistently achieving defined retention and growth goals within a national independent agency platform
Serve as the primary client contact and quarterback all client service activities, coordinating internal resources (placement, risk control, claims, analytics) to deliver a seamless experience
Develop a deep understanding of each client’s industry, risk profile, operations, and strategic objectives to provide tailored insurance and risk management solutions
Lead and execute renewal and marketing strategies for complex, multi-line commercial programs, including property, casualty, and specialty lines, aligned with client goals and risk tolerance
Manage new business onboarding and implementation, ensuring accurate program setup, coverage alignment, and a smooth transition from prospect to client
Conduct comprehensive coverage, exposure, and program analysis, delivering strategic, data-driven, and innovative risk financing solutions (including alternative risk structures where applicable)
Lead the marketing process with multiple national and regional carriers, negotiating coverage terms, pricing, and structure to optimize client outcomes
Evaluate and present marketing results, providing clear, client-focused recommendations that align with coverage needs, budget, and long-term strategy
Serve as a trusted advisor to key decision-makers (CFOs, Risk Managers, Executives), building both strategic and consultative partnerships
Provide guidance on market conditions, carrier appetites, and industry trends, proactively advising clients on emerging risks and opportunities
Identify gaps in coverage and recommend value-added services such as risk control, claims advocacy, analytics, and alternative risk solutions
Participate in RFP processes, finalist presentations, and new business development efforts, contributing to agency growth initiatives
Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and carrier regulatory requirements, as well as internal agency standards
Maintain accurate documentation within agency management systems and leverage technology platforms to enhance client service delivery
Support cross-functional collaboration across offices to deliver a consistent national client experience
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Active Property & Casualty license
Professional designations such as CIC, CRM, ARM, or CPCU preferred
Demonstrated expertise in property, casualty, general liability, and specialty insurance for large portfolios, apartment complexes, condominiums, and mixed-use developments
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Up to 6 years of experience managing multiple clients of increasing complexity in the insurance industry
- Must maintain current required licenses and certifications relevant to the field of expertise
- Technical knowledge relative to industry and incorporating contract provisions, renewal and claims processing, plan knowledge, and carrier funding
- Expertise in managing clients with alternative funding arrangements
- Proficient use of applicable technology
- Expert knowledge of state and federal legislation
- Set priorities and manage workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate deliverables
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
- Advanced problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
