If you join<br>our team, you’ll be contributing to building the technology that powers the future.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>About The Role</strong></p> <p>As the Community Engagement &amp; Government Affairs Manager (Norway), you will be the face of Nscale for local<br>municipalities, regional authorities, and the host communities of our high-tech AI&nbsp;infrastructure. Your mission is to ensure Nscale is recognised as a responsible, value-adding&nbsp;neighbour by bridging the gap between our technical operations and local stakeholders. You will&nbsp;report to the MD Scandinavia and work day-to-day with Norwegian site teams to foster trust and&nbsp;community involvement.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What You'll be Doing</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Local Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary contact for mayors, local councils, and<br>community leaders in existing and future site locations.</li> <li>Community Investment: Design and lead "Good Neighbor" programs, including STEM<br>educational partnerships with schools and support for local sports and culture.</li> <li>Permitting &amp; Regulatory Support: Collaborate with site leads to navigate local zoning<br>(reguleringsplaner), building permits, and environmental impact assessments.</li> <li>Heat Recovery Initiatives: Facilitate partnerships with local industries or municipalities for<br>excess heat utilization projects, such as district heating or greenhouse systems.</li> <li>Public Speaking: Represent Nscale at town hall meetings and industry forums like IKT-Norge<br>or the Norwegian Data Center Industry association.</li> <li>Legislative Advocacy Support: Monitor local policy developments related to power grid<br>access and the Data Center Strategy.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>About You (Skills / Qualifications)</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Political Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Norwegian political system, from<br>municipal councils to the national level.</li> <li>Experience: 8+ years in community relations, public affairs, or regional development,<br>ideally in the infrastructure, energy, or tech sectors.</li> <li>Native Communication: Flawless written and spoken Norwegian (required for council<br>meetings) and professional proficiency in English.</li> <li>Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to find "win-win" solutions balancing commercial needs<br>with community concerns regarding land and energy use</li> <li>Education: Degree in Political Science, Law, Public Administration, or Communications.</li> <li>Mentality: A passionate "Hjertesak" approach to how high-tech investment can revitalize<br>regional Norwegian communities.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Nice to have:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Grid Knowledge: Understanding of the Norwegian power market (Statnett, RME) and how<br>"grid queues" and capacity allocations work.</li> <li>Local Network: Pre-existing relationships with the Ministry of Local Government and<br>Regional Development or Innovasjon Norge.</li> <li>Crisis Experience: Experience managing community pushback or local media "storms"<br>regarding infrastructure projects.</li> <li>Sustainability Credentials: Familiarity with ESG reporting and how local community<br>engagement feeds into global sustainability targets.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What We Can Offer You</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>At Nscale, you'll find a <strong>collaborative, supportive, and innovative environment</strong> where your contributions spark real impact.
