Job Description:
Job Summary
Responsible for organizing and executing community programs that advance the organization’s mission and vision. Plans, develops, and teaches community health and wellness classes, screenings, and related activities. Collaborates with stakeholders to promote measurable improvements in community health. Ensures alignment of programs with organizational goals and community needs.
Essential Functions
• Implements activities that support the health system’s community health needs assessment and improvement plan, ensuring goals are met.
• Trains and validates volunteers on educational and health screening equipment, ensuring competency before event assignments.
• Leads, organizes, and coordinates community events and activities both on and off campus, including health screenings and special programs.
• Assists with scheduling and executing Mobile Health Unit screenings and activities, ensuring compliance with policies and standards.
• Teaches wellness topics such as nutrition, exercise, hand hygiene, substance abuse prevention, and tobacco cessation in various community settings.
• Collaborates with Community Services Specialists and the community team to schedule, assign, and coordinate events and activities.
• Maintains and updates teaching curriculum and educational exhibits, and recommends new purchases as needed.
• Assists with the CPR Training Center, Meals on Wheels, and community vaccine and immunization clinics as requested.
• Excels at public speaking and engages effectively with individuals and groups of all ages.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in public health, health education or a related field or Associates degree in Nursing with relevant experience
Master’s degree in education is preferred
Experience Requirement
3-5 years of experience in public health, health education, or a relevant area
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
All experience must be paid and in the same related field.
Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.
Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
Certifications & Licensures
Maintains active RN or LPN license, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified, and a valid Driver's license

Also involves some exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, cuts/punctures, bloodborne or airborne pathogens, temperature extremes, and occasional interaction with combative or violent people.
