Compliance Officer

<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <p><strong>Regulatory and LFMC Oversight</strong></p> <ul> <li>Serve as Metabit’s designated compliance function head under MAS licensing requirements.</li> <li>Lead the development and maintenance of compliance policies, procedures, monitoring, and training programs.</li> <li>Act as the MAS liaison, managing inspections, filings, and regulatory correspondence.</li> <li>Review and approve new activities, products, and markets from a regulatory and compliance perspective.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Trading and Market Conduct Surveillance</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design and operate trading surveillance systems to detect market abuse, spoofing, front-running, and MNPI risks across the firm’s global strategies.</li> <li>Administer personal account dealing and MNPI control frameworks for Singapore-based and remote-access staff.</li> <li>Partner with risk and trading teams on pre- and post-trade monitoring and control enhancements.</li> </ul> <p><strong>AML/CFT and KYC Management</strong></p> <ul> <li>Oversee the Singapore AML/CFT framework in accordance with MAS Notice SFA04-N02.</li> <li>Supervise onboarding, due diligence, and sanctions screening processes for investors and counterparties.</li> <li>Serve as AMLCO and/or MLRO, ensuring proper governance, escalation, and reporting.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Governance and Reporting</strong></p> <ul> <li>Report periodically to the General Counsel, COO, and Singapore LFMC Board on compliance posture, incidents, and evolving regulatory developments.</li> <li>Contribute compliance perspectives to internal/external audits and investor due diligence reviews.</li> <li>Maintain documentation and attestations consistent with MAS standards and global governance principles.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Risk, or related discipline.</li> <li>At least 7 years of compliance experience, including 3+ years at a MAS-licensed fund management company (LFMC preferred).</li> <li>Eligible to serve as MAS-designated compliance function head (fit and proper requirements).</li> <li>Strong knowledge of SFA, MAS LFMC guidelines, AML/CFT notices, and market conduct standards.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience handling MAS inspections, audits, and inquiries independently.</li> <li>Professional proficiency in English; Mandarin preferred due to regional operating environment.</li> <li>Singapore residency required (or willingness to relocate with work authorization).</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience at a quantitative hedge fund, systematic trading, or HFT firm.</li> <li>Practical understanding of global futures, derivatives, and equity market microstructure.</li> <li>Hands-on experience designing and managing trading surveillance frameworks.</li> <li>Exposure to regional compliance coordination across MAS, SFC, SEC, and CFTC regimes.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What Metabit Offers</strong></p> <ul> <li>A leadership role with independent regulatory authority within a MAS-licensed LFMC.</li> <li>Direct partnership with the General Counsel and firm leadership in shaping global governance.</li> <li>Competitive compensation benchmarked to leading Singapore hedge funds.</li> <li>A collaborative environment combining quantitative research, technology, and institutional discipline.</li> </ul>
