About the role
Summary of Position
You are up to date with the latest technology involving concrete work, possess the knowledge and skill of a specialist in the field, and maintain a high standard of work. Your ability to meet job specifications and make top class finishes in concrete work will ensure your success.
Position Requirements:
- Must have a valid Class 5 driver's license, reliable transportation, and clean driver's abstract
- 5+ years concrete construction experience in building sidewalks, ramps, aprons, grade beams, pile caps, pads, walls, and slabs
- Valid CSTS-2020 with WHIMIS
- First aid and other training certificates are considered an asset
Position Responsibilities:
- Construct forms, tying reinforcement, and placement of concrete
- Expert use of finishing tools
- Knowledge to use equipment at the proper time of the place-finishing sequence
- Spreading and smoothing concrete
- Cutting in expansion joints and troweling edges
- Applying waterproofing and sealant to protect the concrete work
- Monitoring the material to ensure it hardens to a durable finish
