About the role

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Job Purpose:</strong></span></p> <p>The Conference Manager’s responsibility is to support the Conference Director in delivering all aspects of the conference, including agenda, speaker management and relationships within the industry.</p> <p>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Manage relationships with industry leaders, partner organisations, vendors, and media<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Programme research and development<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Speaker acquisition<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;On-site delivery that strengthens speaker, attendee and sponsor relationships<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Market intelligence to identify new content opportunities<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Manage the call for papers process and session selection for the technical conference</p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Key Accountabilities:</strong></span></p> <p>Support Conference Director in:</p> <ul> <li>Liaising with event partners, Ministry and committee members</li> <li>Organising and running committee meetings to determine conference themes, topics, session chairs, and speakers</li> <li>Conducting telephone and in-person research with stakeholders to develop programme agendas</li> <li>Joining sponsorship and exhibition sales calls and meetings with existing and potential clients</li> <li>Building an agenda that is commercially viable for both sponsorship and delegate sales</li> <li>Recruiting C-suite, regulator and government speakers to the programme faculty</li> <li>Researching and providing strategic information required to market and sell conferences to the marketing and sales functions, including: <ul> <li>detailed information on the target market both in terms of sector and geographic markets</li> <li>relevant industry associations and publications</li> <li>competitive events</li> </ul> </li> <li>Attending conferences to promote the conference, gather market intelligence, and to network with potential speakers and delegates to establish and maintain relationships pre- and post- conference</li> <li>Manage the call for papers process and session selection</li> </ul> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Job Context:</strong></span></p> <p><strong>Relationships</strong></p> <p>Internal:&nbsp;<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Conference Director &amp; senior management<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;All internal functions Commercial, Data &amp; Digital, Marketing &amp; PR, HR, Finance and Operations&nbsp;<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Other Content Directors withing the business to share ideas, contacts and best practise</p> <p>External:<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Event Partner (DM)<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Government and NGOs<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Entire Energy Value Chain<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Senior individuals/C-suite professionals&nbsp;<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Associations- Industry and Sector specific<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Steering Committees<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;International government representatives&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Qualifications, Experience, &amp; Skills:</strong></span></p> <p>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Minimum 4 years producing senior-level conferences in energy, finance or policy&nbsp;<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Ability to work with sales, marketing and operations teams<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Demonstrable track record securing C-suite, ministerial and regulator-level speakers<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Experience delivering multi-stage or multi-format programmes, including closed-door senior rooms<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Strong stakeholder management with government bodies and industry associations<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Editorial judgment to hold programme integrity under commercial pressure</p> <p><strong>dmg events is an equal opportunity employer.
