About the role
The Impact you’ll make
- Review digital blueprints, drawings, and project specifications
- Perform material takeoffs and accurate quantity calculations
- Identify scope gaps or clarifications needed for internal follow-up
- Prepare detailed cost estimates (labor, materials, equipment, overhead)
- Build and update cost breakdowns and assumptions
- Source, compare, and validate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
- Assist in preparing bid proposals and client-facing estimate documents
- Compile inclusions/exclusions, assumptions, and alternates
- Track addenda and incorporate changes into estimates
- Coordinate with project managers, sales teams, and vendors via email, Slack, or Zoom
- Request and follow up on quotes; clarify scope and lead times
- Provide timely estimate updates as scope or pricing changes
- Maintain organized estimate files, notes, and revision history
- Keep a clear audit trail of quantities, quotes, and updates
- Ensure naming conventions and shared folders are consistently maintained
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Proven estimating experience in the construction industry (restoration and/or general contracting preferred)
- Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Hands-on experience performing digital takeoffs and building detailed cost estimates
- Experience sourcing and comparing quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
- Excellent written communication and organizational skills; able to work Monday–Friday, 9–5 US time, with reliable internet and a suitable home-office setup
- Technical: Digital takeoff tools (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar), advanced Excel/Google Sheets, strong understanding of labor, material, equipment, and overhead cost components
- Communication: Clear, concise writing; professional etiquette via email, Slack, and Zoom; proactive follow-ups
- Workstyle: Detail-oriented, highly organized, deadline-driven, and adaptable to shifting scopes and addenda
- Mindset: Analytical problem solver with a continuous improvement approach and ownership of outcomes
- Computer with at least 8GB RAM, an Intel i5 core processor/AMD Ryzen 5 Processor and up.
- Internet speed of at least 40MBPS
- Headset with an extended mic that has noise cancellation and a webcam
- Back-up computer and internet connection
- Quiet, dedicated workspace at home

- Remote position
- Must have a reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace
- Required to provide own computer with Intel Core i5 or something similar or higher operating system
- 40 hours per week
- Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–5:00 pm US Time
- $7 per hour
