Lumos &amp; Associates is seeking a detail-oriented professional to support critical infrastructure development throughout the Sacramento region.</p> <p>This role is ideal for someone who thrives in the field and has hands-on experience inspecting water, sewer, storm drain, concrete, and transportation/roadway projects for public agencies.</p> <p><strong>What You Will Do</strong></p> <p>As a Construction Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring public infrastructure projects are built safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable standards.</p> <p>Primary responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Perform field inspections on public works projects, including: <ul> <li>Water distribution systems</li> <li>Sanitary sewer systems</li> <li>Storm drain systems</li> <li>Concrete improvements (curb, gutter, sidewalks, structures)</li> </ul> </li> <li>Roadway and transportation projects</li> <li>Verify construction complies with plans, specifications, and agency standards.</li> <li>Prepare daily inspection reports documenting progress, quantities, and issues.</li> <li>Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and public agency representatives.</li> <li>Monitor material quality, installation methods, and workmanship.</li> <li>Identify deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are completed.</li> <li>Support project meetings and provide field input.</li> <li>Ensure compliance with safety standards and job-site requirements.</li> <li>Maintain accurate records of construction activities and testing results.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What We Are Looking For</strong></p> <p><strong>Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>3+ years of construction inspection experience on public works or civil infrastructure projects.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience in utility (water/sewer/storm drain) and roadway construction.</li> <li>Experience working with municipal agencies, special districts, or transportation agencies.</li> <li>California public works experience strongly preferred (Sacramento region a plus).</li> </ul> <p><strong>Certifications (Preferred or Required – One or More)</strong></p> <ul> <li>NICET Level I or higher – Construction Materials Testing</li> <li>Caltrans JTCP (Soils/Aggregate or Asphalt)</li> <li>ACI Field Technician Grade I</li> <li>ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector</li> <li>ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor</li> <li>Nuclear Gauge / Radiation Safety Certification</li> <li>OSHA 10</li> </ul> <p><strong>Physical &amp; Travel Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain.</li> <li>Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.</li> <li>Ability to work overtime as needed to meet project deadlines.</li> <li>Ability to travel between job sites and offices using a company vehicle.</li> <li>Valid driver's license and driving record with 3 or less demerit points.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Why Join Us?</strong></p> <ul> <li>Make a direct impact on critical public infrastructure projects.</li> <li>Work independently with support from a respected engineering team.</li> <li>Competitive pay, benefits, and overtime opportunities.</li> <li>A company culture that values safety, quality, and professional growth.</li> </ul> <p>Ready to take the next step in your career and join a team that values expertise and safety?
