About the role

Job Summary:

The Construction, Testing & Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for planning, executing, and supervising construction, installation, testing, and commissioning activities for conventional railway signaling systems (e.g., Interlocking) within mainline. This role ensures successful implementation, integration, and validation of signaling systems in compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Construction & Installation
  • Plan and oversee construction and installation of signaling equipment, including wayside systems, trackside components, and control systems.
  • Supervise technicians during installation, ensuring compliance with design drawings and technical specifications.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify quality of workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.
  1. Testing & Commissioning
  • Define test objectives, scenarios, procedures, environments, and tools in alignment with verification and validation plans.
  • Execute testing and commissioning activities for signaling subsystems, ensuring timely completion and handover to customer or warranty teams.
  • Perform field testing, troubleshooting, and validation of signaling systems across multiple projects.
  • Identify root causes of technical issues and propose sustainable solutions with engineering support.
  1. Safety & Documentation
  • Ensure strict adherence to EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) policies during all construction and commissioning activities.
  • Document and report all test results, non-conformities, defects, and workmanship issues using company databases.
  • Participate in safety briefings, work planning, and post-work debriefs with the Project ITC Lead.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Railway Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 4–8 years of experience in railway signaling systems, preferably in conventional or CBTC technologies.
  • Hands-on experience in construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of signaling equipment.
  • Familiarity with signaling subsystems like Interlocking (IXL), Automatic Train Control (ATC), and Data Communication Systems (DCS).
  • Knowledge of railway safety standards and EHS protocols.
