Our sister company, <a href="https://www.hiremaven.ai/">MavenAI</a>, delivers AI-powered marketing automation built by industry experts and integrated directly with property management systems, serving over 2M units.</p> <p><strong>The Role&nbsp;</strong></p> <p>We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to lead and scale the accounting function at our high-growth SaaS company. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will own financial reporting, month-end close, audit, compliance, and accounting operations while partnering closely with executive leadership to support strategic growth.</p> <p>You will blend strategic financial leadership with a collaborative approach to our day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring the team successfully meets its goals. In this role, you will take active ownership of our growth by building robust accounting processes, implementing modern financial tools, and jumping in at any level—from complex executive reporting to quick transactional fixes. This is an opportunity for a strong technical accounting leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and is excited to build scalable processes in a growing SaaS organization.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Financial Reporting &amp; Close <ul> <li>Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes</li> <li>Prepare and review timely GAAP-compliant financial statements</li> <li>Ensure compliance with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards</li> <li>Deliver management reporting and support board materials</li> </ul> </li> <li>Accounting Operations <ul> <li>Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger</li> <li>Improve and automate accounting processes for scalability</li> <li>Maintain strong accounting policies and documentation</li> </ul> </li> <li>Audit &amp; Compliance <ul> <li>Lead annual financial statement audits</li> <li>Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors</li> <li>Design and maintain effective internal controls</li> <li>Oversee federal, state, and local tax compliance</li> </ul> </li> <li>Cash &amp; Treasury <ul> <li>Manage cash flow forecasting and Treasury</li> <li>Oversee banking relationships</li> <li>Partner with FP&amp;A on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis</li> <li>Provide financial insights to support executive decision-making</li> </ul> </li> <li>Team Leadership <ul> <li>Hire, manage, and develop accounting team members</li> <li>Build scalable accounting infrastructure</li> <li>Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement</li> </ul> </li> <li>Hands-On Leadership <ul> <li>Lead by example as a player-coach, balancing strategic leadership with direct execution of day-to-day accounting activities</li> <li>Ready to jump in and tackle operational accounting tasks at every level—whether it’s a quick fix or a complex challenge</li> <li>Roll up sleeves to support all aspects of the accounting function, from transactional work to executive-level financial reporting</li> <li>Ensure deadlines are met by proactively stepping in to resolve issues and close gaps across the accounting organization</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications </strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field</li> <li>CPA required</li> <li>8-10+ years of progressive accounting experience</li> <li>Minimum of 3 years in a management role&nbsp;</li> <li>Strong knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition</li> <li>Experience leading audits and implementing internal controls</li> <li>Hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems)</li> <li>Proven ability to implement process improvements and scalable accounting practices</li> <li>Advanced Excel skills</li> <li>Brings a builder mindset and enjoys creating scalable processes while remaining deeply involved in the day-to-day operations of the business&nbsp;</li> <li>Experience working in high-growth or startup SaaS environments</li> </ul> <p><strong>Why Choose Us:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Remote-First:</strong> We offer the freedom to work from home across most of the U.S. You’ll enjoy the flexibility of remote work, balanced with high-energy in-person offsites to build real connections and celebrate our wins together.</li> <li><strong>Competitive Compensation:</strong> We believe in hiring the best and paying accordingly.
