We have everything you need for a dynamic career!</p></div><p>Our client, a family-owned business with a 100-year legacy, is seeking an experienced <strong data-start="182" data-end="196">Controller</strong> to oversee all financial operations. This is a <strong data-start="244" data-end="274">full-time, onsite position</strong> located in <strong data-start="286" data-end="299">Fords, NJ</strong>, with a schedule of <strong data-start="320" data-end="369">Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Position Summary</strong></span></p> <p>This role is responsible for managing accounting processes, financial reporting, job costing, budgeting, and internal controls while supporting strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have construction industry experience and a hands-on approach.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></span></p> <p><strong>Financial Management &amp; Reporting</strong></p> <ul> <li>Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management</li> <li>Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements</li> <li>Analyze financial results and provide insights to ownership and leadership</li> <li>Manage month-end and year-end close processes</li> </ul> <p><strong>Job Costing &amp; Project Accounting</strong></p> <ul> <li>Monitor job costing, work-in-progress (WIP) schedules, and project profitability</li> <li>Ensure accurate tracking of labor, materials, subcontractors, and overhead</li> <li>Work closely with project managers to review budgets, forecasts, and variances</li> </ul> <p><strong>Budgeting &amp; Forecasting</strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts</li> <li>Track performance against budget and recommend corrective actions</li> <li>Assist ownership with long-term financial planning and cash flow forecasting</li> </ul> <p><strong>Cash Flow &amp; Banking</strong></p> <ul> <li>Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and credit facilities</li> <li>Oversee billing, collections, and lien waivers as applicable</li> <li>Ensure timely vendor payments and payroll processing</li> </ul> <p><strong>Compliance &amp; Controls</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations</li> <li>Establish and maintain internal controls and accounting policies</li> <li>Oversee workers’ compensation audits and insurance reporting</li> </ul> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Qualifications:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking industry or related field</li> <li>Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in construction industry</li> <li>Construction industry is a Must</li> <li>Familiarity with Foundation or Sage accounting software is preferred</li> <li>Advanced Excel skills</li> <li>Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills</li> </ul> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Employee Benefits:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li>Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance</li> <li>401(k) plan with employer matching contributions</li> <li>Paid Time Off (PTO), including vacation, sick, and personal days, as well as paid holidays</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Sax Advisory Group, LLC is an equal opportunity employer and encourages candidates from all backgrounds to apply.
