Let's grow together!</p> <p><strong>Role Overview</strong></p> <p>The Controller position owns all accounting functions at our clients and will be responsible for issuing client financial statements, including thoughtful and value-added fluctuation analyses, developing financial models, and managing departmental budgets and forecasts. The Controller also manages Attivo staff to own full-cycle on-chain and off-chain month-end close, accounts receivable and payable, payroll, and tax compliance. Experience with developing financial models from the ground up and establishing policies and procedures within a corporation is highly preferred. The ideal candidate has worked at or with early-stage start-ups and has a passion for helping companies scale and grow.</p> <p>The position location is flexible/work from home, with preference given to candidates in the following cities where Attivo has an employee presence: San Francisco/Bay Area, Los Angeles/Southern California, New York City, Austin, Denver And Boston. Candidates in other locations are welcome to apply. Some travel to in-person company events is required, approximately 2-3 weeks out of the year. In-person onboarding training will take place within the first 3 months of employment (locations vary).&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Manage all general on-chain and off-chain accounting functions which includes performing month-end close process, eliminations &amp; consolidations, preparing and booking journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analysis</li> <li>Prepare monthly consolidated client financials including fluctuation analysis and budget vs actual comparisons</li> <li>Utilize on-chain accounting tools to streamline processes and improve data accuracy</li> <li>Set client accounting &amp; tax policies</li> <li>Define &amp; implement ASC 606 revenue recognition policies</li> <li>Direct activities related to efficient customer cash collection and vendor payments and overall cash management and cash forecasting</li> <li>Build financial models to help clients manage cash and make intelligent and proactive operational decisions</li> <li>Analyze company operations to identify operational and cost efficiencies and implement solutions</li> <li>Create and manage KPI Dashboards</li> <li>Manage general HR responsibilities, including payroll, processing employee onboarding &amp; offboarding, and benefits management</li> <li>Manage Token Accounting - which includes token warrants and token compensation</li> <li>Oversee client tax-related matters to ensure timely compliance</li> <li>Lead annual financial audits, as required</li> <li>Manage and mentor accounting teams across all clients</li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Desire to work side by side with a variety of CFOs and want mentorship</li> <li>Advanced+ Excel skills and ability to manipulate larger data sets; experience with SQL a plus</li> <li>Experience with standard software solutions: QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, Campfire, Brex, Ramp, Rippling, Gusto, Rillet, Carta</li> <li>Experience with crypto accounting software (e.g. Bitwave, Cointracker, Tres) and reconciliation of on-chain transactions</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable with basic Web3 vocabulary</li> <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities</li> <li>Independent judgment and decision-making</li> <li>Ability to manage multiple projects/priorities at a time</li> <li>Professional curiosity &amp; creativity for Web3 innovation and financial transformation</li> <li>Passionate desire to learn &amp; for continuous improvement</li> <li>Experience implementing workflow automation or AI-enabled tools preferred. Familiarity with generative AI tools and automation platforms strongly preferred.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Education &amp; Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. CPA or CFA preferred</li> <li>8+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years at the Assistant Controller level and above; multi-client experience highly preferred</li> <li>2+ years of recent experience at a Web3 company or crypto native.
