About the role
Well-established building automation and controls contractor seeking a skilled Controls Technician to support installation, commissioning, and service of commercial and industrial automation systems. Role requires strong electrical knowledge, hands-on field experience, and troubleshooting ability.
Key Responsibilities
· Install, terminate, and test control wiring for sensors, actuators, and panels
· Commission and troubleshoot building automation and DDC systems
· Load and modify control programs under direction of senior engineers
· Verify and document system operation and testing results
· Diagnose and resolve electrical or communication issues in the field
· Read and interpret wiring diagrams and control drawings
· Calibrate control devices for accuracy and reliability
· Complete detailed service reports and maintain safety compliance
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM | Overtime as needed
Requirements
· 3–5 years experience with building automation, HVAC controls, or electrical systems
· Strong understanding of DDC controls and low-voltage wiring
· Proficiency with test instruments and diagnostic tools
· Ability to interpret electrical prints and control sequences
· Excellent troubleshooting skills
· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
· Familiarity with Tridium Niagara, Schneider Electric, or similar platforms
· Experience with BACnet, Modbus, or LON protocols
· Tridium Niagara N4 certification a plus
· Background in HVAC service, commissioning, or networking/IP systems
