Emerald AI is seeking a Corporate Counsel to play a pivotal role in supporting the company’s legal needs as it drives innovation at the intersection of AI and energy. As part of a cross-functional team, the Corporate Counsel will partner closely with business, product, engineering, and leadership to provide timely, practical legal guidance that enables rapid and responsible growth.
This role is embedded within the business, advising on commercial agreements, product and regulatory matters, and contributing to strategic initiatives. The Corporate Counsel will help develop foundational legal processes, templates, and systems to ensure legal operations scale alongside the company. Key responsibilities include drafting and negotiating agreements, advising on data usage, privacy, and IP, supporting corporate governance, and staying current on relevant regulatory frameworks.
The ideal candidate holds a JD with active bar membership, has at least 3 years of legal experience in commercial contracts and corporate matters, and is adept at working cross-functionally with technical and business teams. Experience in technology, AI/ML, or infrastructure sectors, and familiarity with data privacy or regulated industries, is preferred.
