About the role
<div>We are looking for a <strong>Correspondents Lead</strong> to own end-to-end the strategy, implementation, and operation of our <strong>Banking Correspondents</strong> channel in Mexico. This role will be responsible for building, scaling, and operating a robust correspondent network, ensuring regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth.<br><strong>Responsibilities</strong></div>
<ul>
<li>Lead the end-to-end implementation of the correspondent model (0 → 1 and scaling).</li>
<li>Manage integrations with <strong>correspondent network managers</strong> and direct correspondents (retailers, aggregators, networks).</li>
<li>Coordinate and execute the regulatory approval process with the <strong>Comisión Nacional Bancaria y de Valores (CNBV)</strong>, including preparation and submission of the <strong>PEN (Business Strategic Plan)</strong>.</li>
<li>Define and document operational processes, controls, and reconciliation flows.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with applicable regulation (banking correspondents, AML/CFT, operational guidelines).</li>
<li>Lead onboarding of new correspondents from negotiation to go-live.</li>
<li>Oversee day-to-day operations: transaction monitoring, incidents, SLAs, and operational continuity.</li>
<li>Coordinate cross-functional teams (Product, Tech, Operations, Legal, Compliance) and external stakeholders.</li>
<li>Identify opportunities to expand and optimize the channel.</li>
<li>Define and track KPIs (volume, coverage, costs, uptime, fraud, etc.).</li>
</ul>
<div><strong>Requirements</strong></div>
<ul>
<li>5+ years of experience in banking, fintech, or payments, with a focus on <strong>banking correspondents</strong>.</li>
<li>Proven experience integrating and operating with <strong>correspondent network managers</strong> and networks.</li>
<li>Hands-on experience with CNBV processes, including <strong>PEN preparation</strong>.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of Mexican regulatory framework.</li>
<li>Experience managing complex, cross-functional projects.</li>
<li>Strong operational knowledge: reconciliation, settlement, incident management, and risk controls.</li>
<li>Highly structured profile with strong execution and ownership mindset.</li>
<li><strong>Native Spanish and advanced English proficiency</strong>.</li>
<li>Ability to operate in fast-paced, build-from-scratch environments.</li>
</ul>
<div><strong>Nice to have</strong></div>
<ul>
<li>Experience launching new payment rails or financial products.</li>
<li>Prior interaction with regulators or authorization processes.</li>
<li>Experience working with retailers or non-bank correspondent networks.</li>
</ul>
