About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling services for individuals receiving substance use recovery support
- Complete assessments, treatment planning, case management, and crisis intervention services
- Perform the Missouri Credentialing Board’s twelve core functions for substance use counseling
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation in both electronic and paper records
- Participate in treatment team meetings, staffing, and care coordination activities
- Manage an active caseload while meeting productivity and documentation expectations
- Support compliance with organizational, ethical, and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with community resources and referral partners to support continuity of care
- Collect and process urine drug screens as needed
- Respond to medical or behavioral emergencies using approved intervention techniques
- Drive as needed to support service delivery and client care coordination
- Provide supervision for certification when eligible and applicable
Requirements, Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- High School/GED required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred*
- At least two (2) years’ experience preferred
- A valid, unrestricted driver’s license and agency established minimum automobile coverage required
- Must possess and maintain a current, active substance use credential (CADC, CRADC, or CRAADC, etc) issued by the Missouri Credentialing Board required
- Must obtain and maintain current CPR certification within 60 days of hire
- Must obtain and maintain certification in an approved crisis intervention methodology (CPI, MANDT, or CALM) within 60 days of hire
- Are passionate about supporting individuals in recovery through compassionate, strengths-based counseling
- Have experience working in substance use treatment, behavioral health, or community-based services
- Build strong therapeutic relationships and communicate with empathy and professionalism
- Are organized and able to balance documentation, caseload management, and client care
- Value collaboration and enjoy working within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Thrive in a mission-focused organization committed to expanding access to care
- Are comfortable supporting individuals through crisis situations while maintaining a calm, client-centered approach
