About the role
Overview
Electrical and mechanical repairs, inspections, maintenance, and installation of overhead cranes, jib cranes, and gantry cranes. Perform modifications and upgrades on cranes.
Responsibilities
- Perform monthly crane inspections
- Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair tasks of all electrical/mechanical crane systems
- Operation mobile equipment including fork trucks, extending boom fork trucks, man lifts and overhead cranes
Qualifications
Required
- Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining AC/DC drives and PLC electrical control circuits
- Must know basic AC/DC motor theory
- Must have a strong safety record, good attitude with proven mechanical ability, good communication, and problem-solving skills
- Self-directed with the ability to work in a team or individual setting
- Ability to work at heights
Preferred
- Sound knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance of production equipment and machinery, familiarity with radio controls, PLC’s and AC/DC drives
- Familiarity with the installation and alignment of motors, brakes, couplings, and gearboxes
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics
