About the role

Smart Nonsense is looking for a creative powerhouse — a researcher, visual storyteller, and content producer who can create viral scripts and execute content across our media channels (Henry Belcaster and YourSATCoach).

You’ll own the full content lifecycle, creating content that reaches over 1 BILLION people annually.

The ideal candidate combines deep research and scriptwriting skills with the ability to pitch engaging, visual stories that fit Smart Nonsense’s brand. You should have proven experience creating viral short-form content, guiding and reviewing video edits, and a passion for producing scroll-stopping, highly shareable media.

This is a hands-on role for someone who lives and breathes viral video storytelling. You’ll be working directly with Henry Belcaster, world class animators, editors, and illustrators.

1) Research

• Deliver polished 1-page pitches that include references to similar viral content, real visual assets (screenshots, examples, links), and structured bullet points outlining the narrative arc

• Source visuals - Hunt down b-roll, stock footage, images, and reference materials that help our production and editorial teams execute

2) Scriptwriting

• Write short-form scripts that grab attention, retain viewers, and drive shares using proven storytelling frameworks

3) Content Production Management

• Review and approve content — watch edited videos and give actionable feedback on audio, pacing, cuts, text overlays, and story flow

• Publish daily across formats (short form, long form, carousel, newsletter)

• Manage content calendar and post-production workflows, ensuring deadlines are met

  • Curious rabbit-holer: You dive deep into trends, news, and obscure corners of the internet to uncover wild, untold stories.
  • Skilled storyteller with a stupid, funny sense of humor: You craft short, punchy, viral scripts and hooks that hook viewers. You understand story structure, pacing, and the psychology of what keeps people watching
  • Video & short-form animation savvy: You understand how edits, motion graphics, and animation turn ideas into scroll-stopping, highly shareable content.
  • Ultra-organized multi-tasker: You thrive in fast-paced environments, juggle multiple projects, and keep timelines, calendars, and approvals on track.
  • Self-starter & fast learner: You can take a story from pitch to live post and "figure it out." You don't wait for instructions — you see what needs to happen and make it happen.

Requirements

  • Prior experience creating viral content for social media (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, etc.)
  • Proven experience writing short-form scripts and guiding video edits from start to finish
  • Exceptional research skills — you can dig deep into trends, news, and obscure stories quickly
  • Strong storytelling sense — you craft hooks, narrative arcs, and punchy scripts that keep viewers watching
  • Familiarity with video editing tools (Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar) and basic knowledge of animation/motion graphics
