Cromwell Operations Supervisor

We're looking for an experienced Operations Supervisor to lead our Cromwell operation. Based at our Cromwell site, you'll oversee day-to-day operational delivery, support and lead local teams, and ensure freight handling and transport activities are completed safely, efficiently, and on time.

 

This is a key operational leadership role responsible for service performance, team coordination, and maintaining the high standards Mainstream is known for.

You'll be the operational leader for Cromwell, ensuring freight moves safely, efficiently, and on schedule while supporting customers and the wider Mainstream network.

 

Your leadership will help drive operational performance, maintain service standards, and ensure the branch continues to deliver outstanding results for customers and the business.

 

As the local operational leader, you'll play a critical role in supporting your team, solving problems, and ensuring the branch operates safely, efficiently, and profitably.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations at the Cromwell branch
• Ensure reliable freight handling, service delivery, and on-time departures and arrivals
• Support and supervise operational staff, drivers, and contractors to achieve performance objectives
• Coordinate dispatch planning, freight movements, and resource allocation
• Assist with labour planning, rostering, and operational scheduling
• Drive operational accuracy and ensure freight is scanned, handled, and processed correctly
• Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards
• Monitor branch performance, service levels, and operational KPIs
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and customer service outcomes
• Build strong relationships with customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders
• Provide hands-on leadership and support during operational peaks and challenges

Skills & Experience

• Experience in freight, transport, logistics, or operational supervision.
• Strong knowledge of freight handling, transport operations, and customer service principles
• Proven ability to lead and motivate operational teams
• Experience coordinating resources, scheduling, and day-to-day operational activities
• Strong focus on safety, operational accuracy, and service delivery
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Strong problem-solving, planning, and organisational abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and operational systems
