DCI’s education centers on an </span><strong>International Baccalaureate </strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">curriculum, </span><strong>advanced language learning</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;"> in Chinese, Spanish, and French, and a culture </span><strong>focused on</strong> <strong>student agency </strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">supported by 1:1 technology.</span></p></div><p><strong>Position Overview:</strong> <strong>DCI is hiring a full-time Custodial Manager </strong>to supervise and support a team of School Custodians. This role ensures that all interior and exterior building areas are clean, safe, and well maintained. The Custodial Manager will assist with custodial duties as needed, including during staff absences, and is responsible for ensuring smooth daily operations of the facility. This position reports to the Director of Facilities.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000</strong>&nbsp; (Starting salary is determined by education and years of relevant experience)&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Work Hours: </strong>Mondays- Fridays ( 10:00am-6:30pm)</p> <p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.</li> <li>Minimum 3–5 years of custodial, facilities, or building maintenance experience, preferably in a school or institutional setting.</li> <li>Prior supervisory or team leadership experience required.</li> <li>Bilingual in Spanish is required.</li> <li>Ability to use multiple technology platforms to guide instruction and communicate with students and families and proficiency with communicating using G-Suite tools, including Gmail, is preferred.</li> <li>Strong written and oral communication skills.</li> <li>Clear a background check.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Key Qualities &amp; Skills:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Supervise a custodial team of approximately ten staff members and assist in the event of a team member’s absence.</li> <li>Approve and review timecards in Paylocity to ensure accuracy and compliance.</li> <li>Review and approve staff time-off requests.</li> <li>Provide constructive performance feedback and conduct regular evaluations.</li> <li>Ensure custodial staff receive proper training and development to maintain high cleanliness and safety standards.</li> <li>Coordinate and oversee daily cleaning activities to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.</li> <li>Address and resolve staffing issues or conflicts within the team.<br><br></li> <li>Collaborate with the Café Coordinator and Facilities Coordinator to schedule AM and PM custodial staff for special shifts, including breaks, holidays, and summer coverage.</li> <li>Respond to emergencies, special events, or weather-related needs as required.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Strong understanding of cleaning methods, floor care, sanitation standards, and OSHA safety regulations.</li> <li>Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) is a plus.</li> <li>Ability to schedule, coordinate, and oversee custodial operations across a large campus.</li> <li>Skilled in inventory management, including ordering supplies and tracking equipment.</li> <li>Ability to read and follow safety manuals, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and work orders.</li> <li>Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and evaluate staff.</li> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, contractors, and maintenance staff.</li> <li>Ability to accept and implement feedback for continuous improvement.</li> <li>Ability to resolve issues professionally and maintain a positive, safe school environment.</li> <li>Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand or walk for extended periods, and perform routine manual labor.</li> <li>Ability to do minor repairs in plumbing / carpentry/ electrical</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><p><strong>Faculty and Staff Development/Benefits: </strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">DCI is committed to the principles of servant leadership and to providing faculty and staff with the resources and training they need to provide an excellent education experience for every student and family.&nbsp;</span></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">We have a benefits package that includes health and disability insurance and paid leave.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">We offer teachers daily planning time, professional development, and reasonable class sizes.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Teachers and staff have the appropriate technology and support to do their work</span><strong>.</strong></li> </ul> <p><em><span style="font-weight: 400;">DC International School is dedicated to the goal of building a culturally diverse faculty and staff committed to teaching and working in a multicultural and multilingual environment.</span></em></p></div>
