Technicians are expected to operate in fast-paced, high-pressure environments and deliver immediate impact with minimal onboarding.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <div><strong>Travel &amp; Compensation:</strong><br>This position requires <strong>frequent travel</strong> to project sites and data centers. Candidates who enjoy traveling and working in different environments will thrive in this role. To recognize the commitment, we offer a <strong>$250 weekly travel bonus</strong>, paid in addition to base wages.</div> <p><strong>Deployment Scope</strong></p> <p>Surge Technicians are deployed based on business need, including:</p> <ul> <li>New data center builds, expansions, and site turn-ups&nbsp;</li> <li>High-volume deployment events (rack lands, infrastructure scaling)&nbsp;</li> <li>SLA recovery scenarios (backlog reduction, performance stabilization)&nbsp;</li> <li>Temporary coverage for staffing gaps or critical skill shortages&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p> <p><strong>Deployment &amp; Infrastructure Execution</strong></p> <ul> <li>Execute high-volume&nbsp;<strong>rack and stack</strong>&nbsp;deployments in live and non-live environments&nbsp;</li> <li>Install, terminate, and manage&nbsp;<strong>fiber (single-mode and multi-mode) and copper cabling systems</strong></li> <li>Perform&nbsp;<strong>fiber splicing, cleaning, testing, and troubleshooting</strong>, including OTDR testing and fault isolation&nbsp;</li> <li>Support physical infrastructure builds including cable routing, ladder racking, and power distribution&nbsp;</li> <li>Read and validate port maps, rack elevations, and infrastructure designs&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Repair &amp; Break/Fix Operations</strong></p> <ul> <li>Diagnose and repair hardware issues across servers, switches, and network components&nbsp;</li> <li>Replace defective components (PSUs, NICs, fans, etc.) with minimal disruption&nbsp;</li> <li>Execute&nbsp;<strong>live service swaps</strong>&nbsp;and support production environments under SLA constraints&nbsp;</li> <li>Perform physical layer troubleshooting (ports, cabling, connectivity)&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Operational Execution &amp; Accountability</strong></p> <ul> <li>Rapidly integrate into new sites and contribute within&nbsp;<strong>24–72 hours of arrival</strong></li> <li>Follow&nbsp;<strong>MOPs, CMOPs, and safety protocols</strong>&nbsp;with strict adherence&nbsp;</li> <li>Accurately document work through ticketing systems and operational logs&nbsp;</li> <li>Support both&nbsp;<strong>planned deployment work and reactive break/fix scenarios</strong></li> <li>Operate effectively in&nbsp;<strong>client-facing environments with high visibility and accountability</strong></li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Performance Expectations</strong></p> <ul> <li>Deliver measurable output aligned to&nbsp;<strong>deployment targets, ticket closure rates, and SLA performance</strong></li> <li>Maintain high quality and accuracy with minimal rework&nbsp;</li> <li>Adapt quickly to new environments, teams, and operating conditions&nbsp;</li> <li>Demonstrate strong ownership, reliability, and consistency across deployments&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Travel &amp; Deployment Expectations (Critical)</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to mobilize within&nbsp;<strong>24–48 hours of notice</strong></li> <li>Willingness to travel&nbsp;<strong>70–90% of the time</strong>&nbsp;across multiple U.S. locations&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to support&nbsp;<strong>extended deployments (2–4+ weeks or longer)</strong>&nbsp;based on business demand&nbsp;</li> <li>Comfortable working and living in&nbsp;<strong>hotel-based environments</strong>&nbsp;for extended periods</li> <li>Flexibility to work&nbsp;<strong>day/night shifts, overtime, and weekends</strong>&nbsp;during surge events&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>This role is best suited for individuals who prefer dynamic, travel-intensive work environments over fixed-site assignments.</strong></p> <p><strong>ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:</strong></p> <ul> <li>2–5+ years of hands-on experience in&nbsp;<strong>data center operations, infrastructure deployment, or break/fix repair</strong></li> <li>Strong experience with&nbsp;<strong>rack and stack, cabling, and hardware installation</strong></li> <li>Proven experience with&nbsp;<strong>fiber (splicing strongly preferred, OTDR testing, troubleshooting)</strong></li> <li>Familiarity with&nbsp;<strong>Cisco, Juniper, Arista, and x86 server hardware</strong></li> <li>Experience with&nbsp;<strong>low voltage systems and industry standards (BICSI, ANSI, EIA/TIA)</strong></li> <li>Ability to read technical diagrams, port maps, and infrastructure documentation&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Tools &amp; Systems Exposure</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with ticketing/workflow systems (e.g., ServiceNow or equivalent)&nbsp;</li> <li>Familiarity with infrastructure documentation, inventory, and asset management systems</li> <li>Ability to operate within client-specific tools, dashboards, and reporting environments&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Success Profile (Behavioral &amp;
