<p><strong>Company Profile:</strong><br><br>Greenland Investment Management is a Mumbai headquartered global hedge fund manager managing assets in excess of USD 1 billion. We manage one of the 10 largest dedicated commodity hedge funds globally.<br>We specialize in cross-market arbitrage strategies across commodities and currencies, investing globally across 40+ markets. We employ a purely quantitative approach using our proprietary big-data research systems to systematically create consistent alpha generating strategies.<br>Our extensive network of globally interconnected and exchange co-located servers along with our low latency trading platforms allow us to algorithmically capture these market inefficiencies across asset classes.<br><br><strong>Job Profile:</strong><br><br>Python Engineers work on building the core operations infrastructure for the firm and automating hedge fund operations to ensure a smooth running of the firm.<br><br><strong>Job Description:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>The team is responsible for the design, development and maintenance of critical, data-driven applications which are a key component of daily trading workflow.</li>
<li>You will be designing and implementing various tools and processes used by Quants, Traders and Operations.</li>
<li>Design and build data pipelines and workflow systems for various market data and trading systems used by various groups across the firm.</li>
<li>Design and build analytical tools and reporting systems for operational and business insights.</li>
<li>Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement scalable solutions.</li>
<li>Take complete ownership of projects which includes evaluating requirements, building good domain knowledge, design and code reviews for other team members, documentation, etc.</li>
<li>Continuously improve and optimize existing Python codebase/processes for better performance and reliability.</li>
<li>Our development environment is Python-based, with cross-platform work on Linux and Windows. We utilize tools such as Docker, Git, Messaging Queues, and cloud environments like AWS to build and deploy scalable systems.</li>
</ul>
<p><br><strong>Core Skills Needed:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Graduate from a tier 1/2 engineering institute or equivalent.</li>
<li>Between 1-3 years of experience in a coding-oriented role</li>
<li>Candidate should have excellent problem-solving skills, high quantitative aptitude, and ability to turnaround projects quickly.</li>
<li>The candidate should have one to three years of programming experience with Python (or Java or equivalent) at a Technology or Financial firm.</li>
<li>Previous Python experience is not required, although we are looking for an established track record of working on large-scale object-oriented projects.</li>
<li>Solid understanding of SQL databases for managing and querying data.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and as a part of a dynamic team.</li>
<li>The candidate should be willing to work in a language-agnostic environment.</li>
<li>Strong communication skills in English to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Added Advantage</strong>:</p>
<ul>
<li>Prior experience in full stack or front-end technologies (React-JS or similar).</li>
<li>Prior experience or exposure in finance or financial technology like high-frequency trading (HFT) or quantitative finance environments.</li>
<li>Experience with data processing, ETL workflows, and integration of external data sources.</li>
