Data Operations Specialist

About the role
Enaimco’s Asset Lifecycle Management (ALM) platform is the place where integrity work happens, embedding daily operations inside a living system of understanding. By connecting physical assets to relevant, searchable digital data, we embed operational workflows directly inside a continuously updating digital twin. This transforms manual data reconciliation into automated clarity, ensuring every engineering decision is based on a current, complete view.
That complete view is just the foundation. By turning asset data into a continuously learning system, our platform delivers contextualized insights today and lays the groundwork for predictive decision-making tomorrow.
We’re looking for a Data Operations Specialist to own how customer data is structured, cleansed, mapped, and validated as it moves into our platform. This is the role that sets the standard for how we handle the messy industrial data our customers bring us, and the discipline that lets every subsequent implementation be faster, more traceable, and more reliable than the last. You’ll be the person who decides how data should be organized for ingestion and ongoing use, then holds the line on those rules across every project.
This position is funded through the Graduate Transition Initiative, delivered by techNL and the Department of Jobs, Growth and Rural Development. The initiative provides support to eligible companies that hire recent graduates into software development and tech sales roles, providing meaningful early-career experience while supporting long-term growth in Newfoundland and Labrador’s tech sector.
What You’ll Do
- Audit raw customer data (P&IDs, asset lists, inspection records) and build the mapping strategy to get it into Enaimco cleanly and traceably.
- Establish and enforce data standards: naming conventions, hierarchies, validation rules, and reusable mapping libraries that compound across implementations.
- Lead data transformation work for new implementations alongside Project Engineers, 2D/3D Specialists, and Customer Success.
- Push back, constructively, on shortcut decisions that would compromise traceability or repeatability.
- Partner with the Implementation Tooling Engineer to encode your standards into internal tools that scale.
Who You Are
- Bring an accountant’s mindset to data: everything traceable, every number adding up, a clear paper trail from raw input to final state.
- Confident telling teammates and customers how data should be handled, with the rationale to back it up.
- Energized by messy, real-world data: you see a tangled spreadsheet and want to understand the structure underneath, not throw it away.
- A clear writer: your standards documents are short, specific, and survive contact with reality.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years in data engineering, data operations, data quality, or a closely related technical role.
- Fluency in SQL and at least one scripting language (Python preferred).
- Strong data modelling instincts: you can read existing customer data and reason about hierarchies, relationships, and gaps.
- Track record of establishing data standards, not just following someone else’s.
- Comfortable defending technical decisions to internal engineers and customer SMEs.
Eligibility
- Ability to work full-time in Newfoundland and Labrador starting July/August 2026.
- Legally entitled to work full-time in Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Completion (within the past two years) of a minimum one-year post-secondary or skills-training program at a recognized NL institution (e.g., MUN, CNA, Keyin College, Get Building, etc.).
- Not currently enrolled as a full-time student.
Bonus Points For
- Industrial or asset-management domain experience (oil & gas, energy, subsea, utilities, manufacturing).
- Familiarity with engineering data formats: P&IDs, tag lists, asset hierarchies, inspection records.
- Experience building internal data tools, mapping libraries, or ETL pipelines.
- Exposure to nearshore or offshore data teams, as this function may grow geographically over time.
Why Enaimco?
- Work that compounds. Every standard you establish makes every future implementation faster.
- Real-world impact. The data you structure underpins decisions on critical offshore assets.
- Small, highly integrated team where your ideas matter and your craft evolves fast.
- Competitive salary and benefits (health, dental), flexible hours and location.
