We offer a market related, Total Remuneration Package which allows full flexibility according to your needs, a great work environment and a promise that you won’t be bored as long as you are prepared for a challenge and want to build something great.</p> <p><strong>Purpose of the role:&nbsp;</strong>The DC Manager: Inbound is responsible for holistic&nbsp;management of the daily operations&nbsp;within the Inbound department for the Takealot Division&nbsp;including all subsidiary Inbound functions.&nbsp;The relevant person will ensure that performance targets&nbsp;are met and that all relevant&nbsp;company / DC Policies and Procedures are always adhered&nbsp;to.</p> <p><strong>This position reports to the DC Operations Manager</strong></p> <p><strong>Your responsibilities will include:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Manage and ensure that all INBOUND (Supplier Collects,&nbsp;Putaway, Receiving, Unloading&nbsp;and Yard Control) departments are well organised and&nbsp;controlled to sufficiently support&nbsp;production and the goals of the business</li> <li>Implement improvement processes and maintain&nbsp;procedures and systems to minimise costs&nbsp;and maximize working capital</li> <li>Ensuring all work areas are clean and tidy and safe for staff to work in</li> <li>Overall management and coordination of the&nbsp;warehousing function</li> <li>Operate an efficient Inbound department by identifying,&nbsp;implementing and managing optimal&nbsp;processes and procedures</li> <li>Responsible for efficiently managing all aspects of stock&nbsp;handling within the realm of the job</li> <li>Ensure daily, weekly and monthly planning is done for all&nbsp;inbound operations and manage&nbsp;adherence to plan</li> <li>Effective management of housekeeping</li> <li>Ensure efficient security and optimum storage&nbsp;conditions for all TAKEALOT’s product&nbsp;lines</li> <li>Management of resources to be effective and efficient at&nbsp;lowest cost and according to&nbsp;changing needs</li> <li>Effective leadership and direction for the operation team&nbsp;through involvement and&nbsp;communication to deliver on the relevant key business&nbsp;drivers</li> <li>Constantly seeking new ways to improve the DC efficiency&nbsp;and cost effectiveness</li> <li>Manage weekly and daily inter-branch transfers (IBT)&nbsp;from an inbound perspective</li> <li>Manage customer liaison process and ensure that DC&nbsp;queries are resolved timeously and&nbsp;exception trends are addressed</li> <li>Ensure that DC space, equipment and DC flow is&nbsp;optimized and that future DC requirements&nbsp;are planned</li> <li>Ensure accurate inventory records are maintained</li> <li>Support stock takes and support the analysis of stock&nbsp;take results</li> <li>Measure and manage staff performance through formal&nbsp;staff appraisals, development,&nbsp;coaching and disciplinary procedures</li> <li>Ensure that all business processes, procedures and job&nbsp;profiles are documented and&nbsp;updated</li> <li>Management reporting in terms of operational&nbsp;performance, productivity, stock control and&nbsp;budgets</li> <li>Participate in annual budget process and long-term&nbsp;planning and control monthly operational&nbsp;costs to stay within budget</li> <li>Manage projects according to stipulated time frames</li> <li>Liaising with retail and marketplace buyers and sellers</li> <li>Measure and manage staff through formal staff&nbsp;appraisals, development, coaching and&nbsp;disciplinary procedures, succession planning</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualification &amp; Experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree / National Diploma in Business,&nbsp;Engineering, Supply Chain or&nbsp;Logistics required</li> <li>8-10 years’ experience in Supply Chain Operations</li> <li>5 years’ experience in operational project management</li> <li>5+ years’ experience in directly managing people to&nbsp;deliver continuous improvement&nbsp;(Lean principles, 5S, multiskilling, cost saving drives)</li> <li>Decision-Making</li> <li>Personnel Supervisor</li> </ul> <p><strong>Attributes Required</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">:</span></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-weight: 400;">Proven track record of successfully implementing&nbsp;operational best practices in a&nbsp;distribution and warehousing environment</span></li> <li><span style="font-weight: 400;">Strong verbal and written communications skills </span></li> <li><span style="font-weight: 400;">A structured and disciplined management style</span></li> <li><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ability to motivate and inspire others</span></li> <li><span style="font-weight: 400;">Strong problem-solving skills.
