Design Engineer - NVH/Acoustic Treatment

We also foster a culture built on high performance, collaboration, continuous improvement, and ongoing professional development.</span></p></div><p><strong>Summary:</strong></p> <p>This role will support engineering design and development activities for NVH and Acoustic treatments.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Represent NVH in packaging meeting and design gates to execute the NVH content strategy in CAD, and provide an NVH input for packaging studies<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Create NVH criteria / packaging CAD for interior acoustics, exterior acoustics, damping, baffles, sealing strategies both in 2D section and 3D to ensure the NVH is successfully integrated<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Design using 3-D modeling software, conduct layout review and 2D drawing creation.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Analyze and resolve complex problems independently or with minimal guidance.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Create part specification requirements and BOM.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Negotiate with surrounding component business units and suppliers.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Perform cost analysis, strength calculations and material selection.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve product and/or processes.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Search new ways to increase overall efficiency, utilize up-to-date technology, and reduce design and parts costs<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Travel to client sites required.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li><span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span>Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5+ years relevant industry experience.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Education with the following specialties preferred: Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing. </li> <li>3+ years of experience doing 3D design in CATIA V6/3DX<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Experience designing dashboard mats, acoustic trims, insulators, baffles, bushings, isolators etc.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Strong understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) required.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></li> <li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p>The pay range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base pay only.
