DT Teacher – Wandsworth Secondary School

A leading secondary school in Wandsworth is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Design & Technology (DT) Teacher to join their thriving department on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and innovative educator to inspire students and contribute to a high-achieving learning environment.

The Role:

  • Deliver engaging and effective DT lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5, encompassing a range of specialisms (e.g., resistant materials, product design, textiles, food technology, graphics).
  • Develop and implement a differentiated curriculum that caters to diverse learning styles, fosters creativity, and promotes practical skills development.
  • Assess student progress through coursework, projects, and examinations, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the DT department to share resources, best practices, and ensure a cohesive learning experience for all students.
  • Maintain a well-organized and safe learning environment within the DT workshops and classrooms.
  • Remain abreast of current trends and technological advancements in DT education.

Candidate Profile:

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Design & Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
  • Demonstrate proven experience teaching DT at the secondary school level (Key Stages 3-5).
  • Exhibit strong subject knowledge across a range of DT specialisms.
  • Possess excellent practical skills and the ability to guide students in the safe use of tools and equipment.
  • Be committed to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where students can develop their creativity and technical abilities.
