Overview
General Summary:
The Associate Graphic Designer for Nautica contributes to the development of seasonal concepts and works with the cross functional team to create innovative Men’s & Women's graphics that support the brand and the financial goals of the category. He/she leverages trend awareness, creativity, and relationship building skills to fulfill these objectives.
- Design innovative Men’s & Women's apparel graphics that are aligned with overall seasonal design direction
- Creatively explore all apparel graphics, new techniques and materials
- Collaborate to develop creative typographic and layout solutions
- Use trend intelligence and an understanding of the current and historical business to design and execute specific categories
- Develop strong working relationships with cross functional team members (Merchandising, Production and Design) through communication and problem solving
- Understand the fundamentals of the production process as it impacts graphic design projects
- Adapt all approved layouts to various formats
- Prepare inspiration/trend boards using creative methods
- Manage deadlines in accordance with the corporate calendar
- Maintain project libraries; compile all reference material together with program files
- Create Tech Packs and graphic mechanical artwork
- Must have experience within apparel, (tees, hoodies, etc.)
- 2-3 years of relevant experience
- Ability to innovate and think creatively
- Strong sketching skills
- Understanding of the Nautica customer
- Ability to multi-task and shift priorities
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency in, Photoshop, & Illustrator/ Adobe Suite
