About the role
Northeast Community College is looking for a full-time Diesel Technology Instructor.

This position is an in-person, on campus faculty position. Under minimal supervision, the instructor is responsible for the delivery of course instruction in a variety of modalities and locations, facilitation of student learning and success, and on-going development of curriculum and learning strategies which meet the needs of students and employers with emphasis in electrical and electronic diagnostic and repair ability in both Ag equipment and diesel truck equipment; air conditioning and refrigeration principles and application of different types of compressors, evaporators, condensers and controls used in today’s farm equipment and diesel truck equipment. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write diagnosis and work completed on routine reports and correspondence. Ability to use personal computer and various types of diagnostic equipment. Additionally, the instructor will collaborate with other faculty and staff members to provide quality instruction for a diverse student population and perform instructional duties and responsibilities in accordance with the philosophy, mission, and policies and procedures of the College.
Requirements:
Education: Requires an associate’s degree in Diesel Technology, or related technical field. A bachelor’s degree is preferred. A combination of licensure and/or certification in conjunction with work experience may be considered in the absence of a college degree. Must have EPA 609 Technician Refrigeration Certification. ASE master certification in medium and heavy-duty diesel equipment required or will be required to obtain in first year. CDL is preferred but not required.
Experience: Minimum of three years of related practical work experience and demonstrated skills in diesel vehicle maintenance, repair, and diagnostic tools.
Skills:
1) Electrical and electronic diagnostic and repair ability in both Ag equipment and diesel truck equipment.
2) Proficient in air conditioning and refrigeration principles and application of different types of compressors, evaporators, condensers and controls used in today’s farm equipment and diesel truck equipment.
3) Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
4) Ability to write, diagnosis and work on routine reports and correspondence.
5) Ability to use personal computer and various types of diagnostic equipment.
Applicants selected for an interview will be expected to provide a 10-15 minute teaching presentation to the search committee that covers electrical diagnostics.
