Direct Support Professional - Maintenance

RESPONSIBILITES:

SAW, Inc. is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with adults who have developmental disabilities, providing the essential support and supervision they need to successfully complete their daily janitorial tasks at our Adult Activity Center.

Essential Job Functions:

 

• Support and Mentorship: Provide one-on-one and group support to adults with developmental disabilities as they engage in competitive employment activities. Offer guidance, encouragement, and instruction to help individuals build essential job skills.
• Skill Development: Work collaboratively with participants to develop their vocational and life skills. This includes job training, communication skills, and time management.
• Encourage meaningful interactions and promote social inclusion.
• Monitoring:  Ensure that work is produced according to specifications of the host company, and that all safety requirements are being met. Monitor the quality of work produced by the individuals at the work site.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of participants' progress and ensure accurate reporting in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines.
  

 Qualifications:

 

• High School diploma or GED.
  
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets the underwriting criteria of the agency’s insurance company.
• Must have reliable transportation and the ability to arrive at work on time each day.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Obtain/maintain CPR/First Aid and DODD certifications (can be done after hire).
• Ability to push/pull/lift 50 pounds.

11:15 a.m. - 6:45 p.m., Monday - Friday
