About the role

<p>As Marqeta’s<strong> Director, Sales (Financial Services)</strong>, you will manage a team tasked solutioning new and novel financial products to F1000 organizations. Your team will also be responsible for growing a portfolio of Marqeta’s largest and most strategic customers.&nbsp;</p> <p>Marqeta partners closely with the most innovative companies in North America to deliver Modern Card Issuing and Processing solutions that help customers manage their finances, build wealth and economic stability.&nbsp; Marqeta is powering a transformation in payments as companies transition to providing innovative embedded financial solutions for their customers.&nbsp; We advise prospects and customers on the shifting payments marketplace, potential ways to innovate in the space, derive increased value from the movement of money and increase customer loyalty.&nbsp;</p> <p>We work<a href="https://www.marqeta.com/blog/2022/05/10/flexible-first"> Flexible First</a>. This role can be performed remote within the United States or from our Oakland, CA or New York City offices. We’d love for you to join us!</p> <p>NOTE: if you are based within 35 miles of our Oakland, California, New York City (Midtown) or London office, you will be expected to be in-office 2 days / week. The Talent team will share more details if selected for the Recruiter Interview.</p> <h2><strong>The Impact You’ll Have</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Lead team of 5+ Account Executives and Account Managers targeting F1000 customers and prospects across key verticals.</li> <li>Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve revenue targets and expand the customer base.</li> <li>Identify, engage, and build strong relationships with key decision-makers in enterprise organizations.</li> <li>Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, product, and customer success, to align on customer needs and ensure satisfaction.</li> <li>Maintain a deep understanding of Marqeta's solutions and effectively communicate value to clients.</li> <li>Provide accurate sales forecasts and pipeline management</li> <li>Stay up to date on industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer pain points to refine sales strategies.</li> <li>Build a diverse, equitable, inclusive, and high-performing sales team by influencing the team's GTM strategy, hiring, team structure, culture, and sales processes.</li> <li>Drive cross-functional collaboration and alignment with key partner teams, including Vetting, Delivery, GNSO, Sales Strategy and Operations, Banking Partnerships and other teams in sales globally.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Who You Are</strong></h2> <ul> <li>15+ years of Enterprise Technology experience in sales and account management within a payments organization.</li> <li>5+ years of experience in managing teams and a measurable track record of developing a team of high performing AEs &amp; AMs.</li> <li>Experience selling complex, multi-product technology platform solutions to Enterprise customers.</li> <li>Industry expertise in Payments, Retail, Fintech and Banking, with an ability to influence in complex situations.</li> <li>Track record of delivering YoY new logo bookings and successfully expanding in-year revenue.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Typical Process</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Application Submission</li> <li>Recruiter phone call</li> <li>Hiring manager video call</li> <li>Virtual “Onsite” consisting of 3-4, 45 min Video Interviews</li> <li>Presentation</li> <li>Offer!</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Compensation and Benefits</strong></h2> <p>Marqeta is a Flex First company which allows you to choose your best working environment, whether that be from home or at a company office. To support Flex First, we calibrate pay to a competitive value according to working location. Compensation is aligned according to three tiers within the United States:</p> <ul> <li><strong>National</strong>: A baseline tier that applies to most of the geographic territory of the United States.</li> <li><strong>Premium</strong>: Slightly elevated from the National tier, and oriented toward a narrower set of higher cost-of-living areas, such as Los Angeles CA and Seattle WA</li> <li><strong>Premium Plus</strong>: A tier for the most expensive working areas, like the San Francisco Bay area and New York City.</li> </ul> <p>Visit <a href="https://www.marqeta.com/company/salaryzones">this page</a> or consult with a Recruiter to determine which tier would be applicable to you.</p> <p>Within our Revenue organization at Marqeta, On Target Earnings (OTE) is composed of a mix between annual salary and variable compensation, which is earned based on your individual performance and that of your immediate team.</p> <p>When determining an OTE figure we consider several factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior experience, and work location.
