<p><strong>Port Dispatcher – Savannah, GA</strong></p> <p><strong>Location:</strong> Savannah, GA<br><strong>Reports To:</strong> Terminal Manager<br><strong>Employment Type:</strong> Full-Time<br><strong>Compensation:</strong> $24–$26/hour (DOE) <br><strong>Schedule:</strong> Two full-time shifts available</p> <ul> <li><strong>Shift 1:</strong> 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday–Friday</li> <li><strong>Shift 2:</strong> 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday–Friday</li> </ul> <p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p> <p>Cargomatic is seeking experienced <strong>Port Dispatchers</strong> to support high-volume drayage operations in Savannah. This role is responsible for daily dispatch execution, driver coordination, container and chassis management, and issue resolution in a fast-paced port environment. The ideal candidate has strong port/drayage experience, communicates clearly with drivers and carriers, and can make sound decisions under pressure.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Schedule and dispatch owner-operators, company drivers, and third-party carriers hauling under Cargomatic’s SCAC code.</li> <li>Plan and assign loads based on driver availability, equipment capacity, and operational priority.</li> <li>Maintain consistent communication with drivers regarding assignments, schedules, changes, and performance expectations.</li> <li>Assess driver, tractor, chassis, and container capability for each requested haul.</li> <li>Track and trace shipments, proactively identifying and resolving delays, exceptions, or operational issues.</li> <li>Manage empty container inventory, including returns and repositioning.</li> <li>Enter, update, and close orders accurately and on time in Cargomatic’s proprietary TMS.</li> <li>Validate Proof of Delivery (POD), interchange documents, and other required paperwork.</li> <li>Identify and apply accessorial charges to ensure full revenue capture.</li> <li>Provide professional, responsive service to drivers, carriers, and internal stakeholders.</li> <li>Collaborate with internal teams and perform additional operational or administrative duties as needed.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What We’re Looking For</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Experience:</strong> Minimum of 2 years of port/drayage dispatch experience (required).</li> <li>Strong understanding of port operations, logistics concepts, and dispatch best practices.</li> <li>Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a high volume of daily moves.</li> <li>Excellent communication and negotiation skills; ability to resolve issues quickly and professionally.</li> <li>Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands.</li> <li>Comfortable working in dispatch/TMS software and Microsoft Office.</li> <li>Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What We Offer</strong></p> <ul> <li>Competitive hourly pay ($24–$26/hour, DOE) with performance-based incentives.</li> <li>Medical, dental, and vision insurance.</li> <li>401(k) with company match.</li> <li>Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays.</li> <li>Opportunity to grow with a high-growth company modernizing port and drayage logistics.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Who We Are</strong></p> <p>Cargomatic is the #1 technology platform and digital marketplace for local trucking.
