<p class="font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]">Join a thriving, established cannabis company (200+ employees) at its next stage of growth. As District Manager, you'll lead three Iowa dispensaries — Iowa City, Waterloo, and Council Bluffs — while also serving as the on-site General Manager of the Iowa City location. This district is expected to expand into southern Minnesota as the company grows. This is a high-impact, dual-accountability role for a leader who excels at both big-picture strategy and boots-on-the-ground execution.</p>

<li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Coach and develop managers at Waterloo, Council Bluffs, and Southern MN to build high-performing teams and deliver outstanding customer experiences</li>
<li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Own district P&L, monitor KPIs, and guide GMs on labor planning, sales targets, and cost control</li>
<li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Conduct regular store visits, walkthroughs, and audits to improve execution and support leadership development</li>
<li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Ensure consistent compliance with policies, brand standards, and safety protocols across all locations</li>
<li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Collaborate with Marketing, Merchandising, Supply Chain, and Finance on promotions, inventory, and process improvements</li>
<li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Partner with HR to recruit top talent and build a bench of future leaders</li>

<li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Lead, mentor, and inspire the Iowa City team of managers and associates to exceed operational and financial goals</li>
<li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Oversee daily scheduling, cash and inventory management, visual merchandising, and compliance</li>
<li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Develop and coach Assistant Managers, preparing them for future leadership roles</li>
<li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Champion a culture of accountability, communication, and continuous improvement</li>
<li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Ensure safety, consistency, and excellence in every facet of daily store operations</li>

<li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">8+ years of progressive retail leadership, including 3+ years of multi-unit management experience</li>
<li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">5+ years in multi-functional retail management with direct supervisory responsibility</li>
<li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Strong P&L management and analytical skills; data-driven decision-maker</li>
<li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Proven ability to coach and develop leaders at multiple levels</li>
<li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills</li>
<li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Strong problem-solving, negotiating, and critical judgment skills</li>
<li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Comfortable with scheduling, inventory systems, and financial reporting</li>
<li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Comfortable with frequent travel between Iowa City, Waterloo, Council Bluffs, and Southern MN; flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays</li>
<li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">100% in-office commitment across locations — this is not a remote role</li>
<li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">High level of integrity, personal motivation, adaptability, and sense of urgency</li>
<li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and managing sensitive information</li>
<li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Must report to work sober at all times</li>
<li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly (up to 200 lbs with assistance), with or without reasonable accommodation</li>
<li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience accepted</li>
<li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check</li>
<li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Minimum 21 years of age</li>

<p>On May 12, 2017, Governor Terry Branstad signed House File 524 into law, allowing use of medical cannabidiol to treat certain debilitating medical conditions. According to the Iowa Department of Public Health: "The Act provides that a person recommend, possess, use, dispense, deliver, transport, or administer cannabidiol if the recommendation, possession, use, dispensing, delivery, transporting, or administering is in accordance with chapter 124E of the Iowa Code." This law also allows patients and designated primary caregivers to possess cannabidiol and requires the recommendation of a board certified physician.</p>
