Role Overview
SSO Cancer Hospital is seeking a Doctor’s Assistant / Patient Coordinator to support oncology consultants in managing schedules, coordinating patient care, and ensuring a seamless treatment journey. The role involves close interaction with patients, doctors, and hospital departments, with a focus on operational efficiency and patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the doctor’s daily OPD, consultation, and surgery schedules
- Ensure optimal time utilization and coordination across multiple locations
- Coordinate patient appointments, follow-ups, and communication
- Ensure smooth patient flow during OPD hours
- Act as a single point of contact between patients and hospital teams
- Assist in converting OPD consultations into procedures or IPD admissions
- Follow up with patients regarding diagnostics, treatment decisions, and surgery scheduling
- Coordinate admissions planning, IPD scheduling, and OT bookings
- Liaise with billing, nursing, and hospital departments for seamless execution
- Assist with insurance pre-authorisation processes and required documentation
- Coordinate charity cases and ensure completion of approvals and documentation
- Maintain patient records, follow-up trackers, and scheduling updates
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry in internal systems
- Ensure a smooth and positive patient experience throughout the treatment journey
- Collect patient feedback and encourage reviews for the doctor and centre
Requirements
- Strong communication skills in English and Hindi
- Excellent coordination and organisational abilities
- Basic computer proficiency (MS Excel and hospital systems preferred)
- Prior experience in hospital or clinic coordination is preferred
- Ability to handle patient interactions with empathy and professionalism
