Drive Test Analysis Specialist (2G / 4G / 5G) – RCA & Optimization Expert

We are seeking a Drive Test Analysis Specialist with strong expertise in multi-RAT (2G/4G/5G) performance analysis. The candidate will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and diagnosing radio network issues from drive test data, and providing clear root cause analysis (RCA) and optimization recommendations.

The role requires strong experience with XCAL/XCAP tools and the ability to correlate drive test results with OSS data (CM/PM) to deliver accurate and actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

Drive Test Analysis

• Analyze drive test logs using XCAL/XCAP tools
• Identify and classify network issues:
• Accessibility failures (RRC, RACH, Attach, Registration)
• Call drops / RLF
• Handover failures (intra/inter-frequency, inter-RAT)
• Low throughput and QoE issues
• Perform end-to-end service analysis (voice, data, mobility)

Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

• Perform detailed root cause analysis of detected issues:
• Coverage problems (RSRP/RSCP, SS-RSRP)
• Interference (SINR, RSRQ)
• Mobility configuration issues (neighbor relations, HO parameters)
• Capacity/congestion issues
• Correlate radio KPIs with network behavior and events

 
Correlation with OSS Data

• Analyze and correlate: CM (Configuration Management) data / PM (Performance Management) counters
• Validate findings against: Neighbor definitions / Parameter settings
• Load indicators and PRB utilization

 
Optimization & Recommendations

• Provide clear, actionable recommendations, including:
• Parameter tuning (HO thresholds, timers, power)
• Neighbor optimization (add/remove/update)
• Coverage improvements (tilt, power adjustments)
• Interference mitigation strategies
• Support optimization loops and post-implementation validation

 
Reporting & Visualization

• Complete detailed technical reports including:
• Issue identification
• Root cause explanation
• KPI impact
• Recommended actions
• Present analysis using:
• maps (drive routes, failure points)
• charts / KPI trends
• Layer 3 messages
• 
  Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

• Strong experience in Drive Test analysis (2G / 4G / 5G)
• Hands-on expertise with:
• XCAL / XCAP
• Solid understanding of:
• LTE / NR protocols (RRC, MAC, PHY basics)
• 2G fundamentals (for legacy support)

OSS & Network Knowledge

• Experience working with:
• CM and PM data
• OSS platforms
• Strong understanding of:
• neighbor relations
• handover mechanisms
• radio parameter tuning

 
Vendor Knowledge (at least one required)

• Nokia
• Ericsson
• Huawei
• Ability to interpret vendor-specific parameters and counters is essential.

Analytical Skills

• Strong problem-solving mindset
• Ability to:
• correlate multi-source data
• work with large datasets
• derive insights from KPIs and logs

 
Nice to Have

- Experience with network sharing configurations such as MORAN and MOCN (considered a strong plus)
 
Education

- Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, or related field
