Early Childhood Educator (3-5 years)

A Vancouver neighbourhood House is looking for a creative, caring and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our their 3 to 5 year Childcare. Orientation and training will be provided.

Role and Responsibilities 

• Use team approach to plan, implement and evaluate a developmentally appropriate, Reggio inspired, inclusive and high-quality program for children ages 3 to 5
• Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of children
• Guide and assist children in the development of daily care routines
• Establish & maintain good communication and rapport with parents and caregivers
• Light housekeeping to ensure program facilities and equipment are safe and clean
• May supervise and co-ordinate the activities of Early Childhood Educator Assistants  
• Participate in ongoing internal and external professional development 

Qualifications and Skills 

• Minimum 1 year of experience working in a licensed childcare program with children 3 to 5 years old
• Creative, open minded and team oriented
• Valid Early Childhood Educator License issued by the BC ECE Registry required
• Special Needs ECE an asset
• Valid First Aid/CPR and Food Safe
• Clear CRC upon hire
• Good knowledge and awareness of BC ELF and Reggio inspired practice  
• Sound knowledge and understanding of BC Childcare Licensing Regulations and Best Practices
• Effective guiding and caring skills
• Good verbal and written communication in English
• Able to work in a diverse and inclusive environment

Hours

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 35hrs/week between the hours of 7:00am to 6:00pm 
• Type:  Regular full time
