About the role


Voces is looking for an Election Protection Coordinator to help break down voting barriers for immigrant communities across Wisconsin. If you're a relationship-builder, a problem-solver, and a true believer in the power of community, we want you on our team!   This role will consist of 30-40 hours per week. You will ensure fair, accessible, and inclusive elections by supporting voters, monitoring election processes, and addressing barriers to voting. Your work will be vital to mobilizing informed and empowered voters.

This is a limited term position, starting June 2026 and concluding on November 30th 2026   Note: This position will include work for both Voces de la Frontera (VDLF) and our 501c4 sister organization Voces de la Frontera Action (VDLFA), as part of our efforts to support pro-immigrant legislation and electoral candidates and raise up the Latinx and immigrant vote in critical elections.   Job duties:

  • Recruit and coordinate bilingual Election Observers and poll workers in priority communities across Wisconsin.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with municipal clerks and election officials statewide.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and facilitate Election Observer trainings, ensuring all participants are prepared and equipped for election activities.
  • Represent Voces in voter protection coalitions and report election-related incidents as needed.
  • Collaborate with staff and volunteers to strengthen election protection and community defense efforts.
  • Train organizers and volunteers on voter education, voter protection, and election best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records, data entry, assignments, hours, and administrative paperwork; coordinate stipends and payments with administrative staff.
  • Monitor program goals, metrics, and reporting to ensure successful implementation of the election protection workplan.
  • Host regular team meetings and provide updates on progress, challenges, and outcomes.
  • Contribute to post-election evaluations and recommendations for program improvements.
 
                                                    Physical and Mental Demands:  Physical:
  • Frequent sitting and standing for extended periods during training sessions, meetings, and election day activities
  • Occasional will travel to polling locations, municipal offices, and community sites throughout Wisconsin
  • Occasionally will lift and carry training materials, supplies, and equipment up to 25 pounds
  • Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment (computer, phone, printer)
  • Visual acuity to review documents, monitor data entry, and observe polling site activities
  • Ability to work in various indoor environments including offices, community centers, and polling locations

  • Cultural competency and sensitivity when working with Latinx and immigrant communities
  • Capacity to communicate in a cordial manner with individuals of all political backgrounds
  • Capacity to remain calm and work well under pressure and time constraints
  • Capacity to work independently while also collaborating effectively with staff, volunteers
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and shifting priorities throughout the election cycle

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (Preferred)
  • Reliable Transportation and ability to travel within Wisconsin as needed
  • Demonstrated experience in community organizing, civic engagement, voter protection, or a related field
  • Strong relationship-building skills with diverse groups including municipal clerks, staff, and volunteers
  • Experience leading, recruiting, training, and coordinating volunteers or community leaders
  • Comfortable with technology tools used for scheduling, reporting, and data management
  Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in nonprofit, advocacy, or mission-driven organizations.
  • Experience working directly with Latinx, immigrant, or other historically underrepresented communities
  • Previous involvement in voter education or get-out-the-vote (GOTV) campaigns
  • Knowledge of pro-immigrant policy landscape and electoral advocacy
