About the role

<p><strong>Who We’re Looking For&nbsp;</strong></p> <p>Quantum Space is developing high-performance spacecraft designed for agility, autonomy, and mission longevity in cislunar space. We are seeking a highly skilled <strong>Electrical Engineer – EGSE, AI&amp;T</strong> to lead the development and integration of electrical ground support equipment (EGSE) systems and to support spacecraft assembly, integration, and test (AI&amp;T) activities.&nbsp;</p> <p>This role is ideal for an experienced electrical engineer who thrives at the intersection of hardware development, systems integration, and test execution. You will be a key contributor to ensuring safe and successful vehicle build-up and mission readiness.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Where You’ll Make an Impact&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design, procure, assemble, and operate EGSE systems for spacecraft AI&amp;T including power distribution, communications, telemetry/command, RF test, and custom hardware interfaces&nbsp;</li> <li>Design and build EGSE harnesses for interfacing test equipment and spacecraft systems&nbsp;</li> <li>Lead spacecraft electrical system integration across avionics, EPS, communications, and propulsion subsystems&nbsp;</li> <li>Write and execute implementation plans, test procedures, and build documentation&nbsp;</li> <li>Troubleshoot and resolve anomalies observed during integration and test operations&nbsp;</li> <li>Support vehicle-level environmental testing (TVAC, vibration, EMI/EMC)&nbsp;</li> <li>Support program milestones including PDR, CDR, MRR, and TRR&nbsp;</li> <li>Operate within cleanroom and ESD-controlled environments around flight hardware&nbsp;</li> <li>Create technical documentation and interface control documents (ICDs) for EGSE and AI&amp;T handoffs across teams&nbsp;</li> <li>Develop and run automated test scripts and code for hardware validation and regression testing&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>What It Takes&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>B.S. or M.S. in Electrical, Computer, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline&nbsp;</li> <li>5+ years of experience supporting spacecraft flight hardware and integration environments&nbsp;</li> <li>Experience architecting and deploying EGSE systems including power, command &amp; telemetry, RF, and custom interfaces&nbsp;</li> <li>Familiarity with spacecraft integration processes and spacecraft build flows&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to lead subsystem and vehicle-level electrical integration and testing&nbsp;</li> <li>Strong skills in technical writing, procedure authorship, and troubleshooting&nbsp;</li> <li>Experience developing and executing automated test scripts (e.g., Python)&nbsp;</li> <li>Proficient with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies&nbsp;</li> <li>Experience with code verification and validation best practices&nbsp;</li> <li>Familiarity with ESD-safe handling procedures and cleanroom protocols&nbsp;</li> <li>Strong cross-functional awareness and systems-level thinking&nbsp;</li> <li>Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, iterative environment where priorities shift quickly&nbsp;</li> <li>Work location within the LA area</li> </ul> <p><strong>Nice-to-Have Experience&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong background in core EE fundamentals (analog/digital circuits, power, grounding, etc.)&nbsp;</li> <li>Experience with spacecraft data buses and interfaces (RS422/RS485, SpaceWire, Ethernet, SERDES, LVDS, CAN, Discrete IO, Cameralink)&nbsp;</li> <li>Familiarity with avionics system architecture, electrical power system (EPS) architecture, and spacecraft power modeling&nbsp;</li> <li>Hands-on experience with ECAD tools like OrCAD or Altium for schematic capture, layout, and parts library management&nbsp;</li> <li>Experience with circuit simulation tools (e.g., LTSpice, PSpice)&nbsp;</li> <li>Experience with FPGA-based systems and HDL programming (VHDL, Verilog)&nbsp;</li> <li>Certification in NASA-STD-8739.4, IPC-620, J-STD-001, IPC-7711/7721&nbsp;</li> <li>Experience authoring and validating spacecraft electrical system requirements&nbsp;</li> <li>Project management or test campaign leadership experience&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>What You’ll Get&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ownership – Lead the development and operation of EGSE systems across mission phases&nbsp;</li> <li>Innovation – Build custom tools and processes to accelerate integration and test&nbsp;</li> <li>Impact – Be a critical enabler for mission readiness and system-level success&nbsp;</li> <li>Growth – Join a rapidly growing engineering team at the core of hardware execution&nbsp;</li> <li>Compensation – Competitive salary, equity, and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, generous leave, FSA, 401(k) matching, and equity sharing&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Location</strong>: Hawthorne, CA</p> <p><strong>Compensation</strong>: $125,000 to $180,000 Annual Salary Depending on Experience</p> <p><strong>Additional Requirements&nbsp;</strong></p> <p>To comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including ITAR, applicants must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.&nbsp;</p> <p>Apply now.
