The Electrical Engineer II will design, wire, program, test, and troubleshoot custom equipment used in the manufacturing of company products.

  • Design, document, and implement complex machine control systems

  • Troubleshoot and repair complex machine control systems

  • Verify safe reliable machine operation and initiate corrective action

  • Evaluate and source cost effective replacement parts

  • Create and edit programs for PLCs, HMIs, and Motion Controllers

  • Estimate cost and completion date for assigned project(s)

  • Layout and wire complex panels, controls, and machine control systems

  • Analyze and recommend improvements to equipment

  • Complete assigned projects independently

  • Handle confidential information on a regular basis

  • Provide technical guidance to Electrical Engineer I and Electrical Technician I

  • Perform other duties as directed by the Machine Engineering Supervisor and/or the Lead Electrical Engineer

  • High school diploma with a minimum of 15 years; or BSEE or BSEET degree with 10 years of experience

  • Familiar with NEC, UL508A, and Industrial control application best practices

  • Must have all basic tools

  • Industrial control and power system design and troubleshooting

  • Read, create, and evaluate electrical schematics

  • Good advanced math skills

  • Familiar with programming PLCs, HMIs, drives, and motion controls

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

  • Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as required

  • Ability to use a computer and software as required
