About the role
Duties Include
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of engineering solutions for electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, motor controls, and instrumentation.
- Create and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Monitor the progress of projects and make necessary adjustments to ensure timely and successful completion.
- Review and approve designs, specifications, and calculations, ensuring quality and adherence to project requirements.
- Identify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate or resolve issues.
- Ensure all aspects of project safety comply with relevant regulations and quality standards.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including reports, design modifications, and status updates.
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to upper management and clients.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal teams, external clients, and contractors, ensuring clear communication and collaboration.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical designs with other engineering systems.
- Support field activities such as site inspections, system start-up, and troubleshooting during construction and commissioning phases.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook and familiarity with Deltek Vision and Smartsheet or similar software’s platforms.
- AutoCAD experience is a plus.
- Ability to exercise critical thinking and good independent judgement.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively multi-task and work on multiple projects while adhering to project schedules and budgets.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on industrial, municipal, or commercial projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design and drafting tools.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards, including the National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA guidelines.
