Role Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Electrical Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will support the assembly, integration, testing, and maintenance of electrical, electronic, and power systems used in ground-based and space-flight platforms. You will work closely with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to ensure high-reliability systems are built and validated to exacting standards for mission-critical applications.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, integrate, and wire electrical and electronic components, including circuit boards, harnesses, sensors, power supplies, and control systems, for ground and flight hardware.

  • Support the setup and execution of electrical tests, including continuity, insulation resistance, functional, and environmental testing (e.g., thermal, vacuum, vibration).

  • Assist in troubleshooting electrical and electronic systems to identify and resolve root causes of performance issues or failures.

  • Follow detailed work instructions, schematic diagrams, and engineering documentation to build and test precision systems.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of builds, test results, non-conformances, and system configurations.

  • Support prototype builds and iterative development cycles for new ground support and space systems.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to provide feedback on assembly processes, component selection, and design for manufacturability/testability.

  • Assist with inventory management of electronic components, wiring, specialized tools, and lab equipment.

  • Support manufacturing and integration teams with assembly, testing, and quality control activities across various platforms.

  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure alignment on project requirements and timelines.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree, technical certification, or relevant hands-on experience in electrical engineering technology, electronics, avionics, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree is a plus but not required).

  • 0–3 years of experience in electrical assembly, electronic lab work, or precision technical environments, preferably with exposure to aerospace or ground station systems.

  • Basic understanding of electrical circuits, test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators), and wiring standards.

  • Experience working with soldering irons, crimping tools, microscopes, and standard electrical lab instrumentation.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive, high-precision tasks.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical procedures.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-paced environment and with high-reliability hardware.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with high-reliability soldering, cable harness fabrication, and PCB assembly best practices (e.g., IPC standards).

  • Familiarity with ground support equipment (GSE) or space flight hardware testing and integration.

  • Experience working in ESD-controlled or cleanroom environments.

  • Basic knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers, or software/firmware loading is a plus.

  • Exposure to CAD tools for electrical design or harness layout (e.g., Altium, AutoCAD Electrical).

  • Experience supporting qualification testing or acceptance testing for aerospace systems.

  • Passion for space exploration, satellite technology, or mission-critical ground systems.
