Job Summary

Installs and repairs electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in buildings. Installs conduits and pipes to businesses/buildings electrical wires and cables. Ensures piping complies with electrical codes. Installs circuit breakers and other electrical hardware and connects wiring to them.

Qualifications and Job Requirements:

• At least three-five (3-5) years’ experience working as an electrician.
• High school diploma.
• Working knowledge of electrical theory, and the associated principles, materials, and equipment
• Experience with or knowledge of using hand-powered tools.
• Take responsibility, pay attention to safety procedures and legal regulations
• Troubleshoot problems and make timely repairs
• Take responsibility, pay attention to safety procedures and legal regulations
• Electrician degree from a technical college.
• Deep electrical system, power generation, blueprints, maintenance, and repair knowledge.
• Maintaining good knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems as well as various testing equipment.
• Analytical skills and problem-solving skills

 Main Duties/Responsibilities:

• • Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.
  • Reading technical diagrams and blueprints.
  • Performing general electrical maintenance.
  • Inspecting transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components.
  • Troubleshooting electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.
  • Repairing and replacing equipment, electrical wiring, and fixtures.
  • Performing circuit breaker corrective maintenance.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
  • All other duties required by manager

• Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with employees and guests
• Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, managers and co-workers.

 

Physical Requirements

• • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste and smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • All island employees must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills. Full use/range of motion of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency
