Elementary Science Teacher

TITLE: SCIENCE TEACHER 

Primary purpose:

To create a flexible elementary class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with students; to establish good relationships with parents and other staff members.

Responsibilities:

• Proficiency in use of Microsoft email and office programs
• Teaches core subjects to bilingual students in grades 1-5 using an American curriculum and standards; evaluates students and prepares reports.
• Administers and develops subject specific assessments for the purpose of assessing student competency levels and/or developing individual learning plans.
• Forms lesson plans and instructional materials that provide individualized and whole group instruction for the needs of each student.
• Uses a variety of instruction strategies: adaptable for online and on-campus environments
• Communicates with parents on a regular to discuss students’ progress.
• Collaborates with colleagues in committees to gather ideas on the successful implementation of curriculum

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of related work experience
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Bachelor’s Degree
