We are currently seeking an experienced and talented Senior Engineer to join our high performing team.
REPORTING TO: Site Manager
LOCATION: Based in Dublin, Ireland. Candidates from NI are welcome to apply but must be willing to commute.
CONTRACT TYPE: FULL-TIME
HOURS: Monday – Friday
Role Responsibilities
- Support the Site Manager in helping to lead the construction of the allocated project.
- Build strong working relationships with the Engineering team and sub-contractors.
- Ensuring project packages meet agreed specifications, budgets and/or timescales.
- Liaising with clients, subcontractors and other professional staff, especially Quantity Surveyors and the overall Project Manager.
- Engage all members of the project team to ensure projects are delivered on time.
- Liaising with the Commercial team and other internal stakeholders as and when required.
- Assisting in managing systems to enable the progress of work to be reviewed against time, quality, dimensions, and quantity.
- Assisting in the recording and testing of workmanship and materials, i.e., drainage, concrete, piling, brickwork etc.
- Providing engineering support to ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered.
- Responsible for setting out works constructed within allowable tolerances
- Regularly checking the setting out points and benchmarks ensuring that all setting out instruments and measuring equipment are delivered to site with a calibration certificate and recorded accordingly.
- Ensuring workforce understand setting out information has been identified as suitable for the type of work being carried out.
- Responsible for providing and maintaining setting out and dimensional control, to ensure accurate construction of the works.
- Checking technical designs and drawings to ensure that they are followed correctly.
- Supervising the work of all subcontracting firms carrying out works on site.
- Engaging and liaising with utility providers / co-ordinating on site, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies.
- Preparing site reports and all other required documentation.
- Taking a proactive approach to managing Health and Safety on site.
- Ensuring that health and safety and sustainability policies and legislation are adhered to at all times.
- Coordinating and supervising temporary works as required.
- Implementing a regime of test and inspection plans for all works on site.
The Candidate
Qualifications & Experience:
- A higher-level qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- 5-10 years’ experience in a Site Engineering role on construction projects, with a proven track record on large scale projects
Skills & Attributes
- Possess in-depth knowledge of Irish/UK construction standards.
- Ability to liaise with Commercial & Contracts team when dealing with internal stakeholders and client’s representatives while on site, including attendance at meetings.
- Technically competent.
- Demonstrable commercial awareness.
- Process orientated and strong attention to detail
- Effective problem-solving skills
